Wow you got Sport and HD ticket for free, that seems pretty sharp. I just resubbed and paying $50 for the same.
Brunzy: Haven't been following this thread so this may be old news. Just had a call offering Sky for $6 a week.
Dang, last week it was $5 a week, for a 5 year contract. There was a $2 joining fee so I declined.
Anyone had any luck getting this deal again? I originally had it awhile ago, and the 12 months expired and have been paying the normal price since then. I believe you need to cancel sky and wait 1 month etc before getting this deal again or have you guys managed to use a different name and just overlap it etc?
Thanks!

AFAIK Cancel then call after a month

Cheers guys for all the info on how to get a great Sky deal. I signed up to Basic + Sport + MySky + HD ticket for $49 a month on Friday afternoon, got it installed Saturday afternoon.
If you ring up before 3pm, they can usually schedule a tech for the next day still apparently.

Not quite. You have to give a months notice and then after that month return the decoder. From the time it is returned you have to wait a month then you can call the telemarketers again.
Tks for that. 2 months, still worth it

For clarification, you will only be without Sky for one month (plus the time it takes from calling the telemarkers to the installation person arriving). For example, if you got installed on September 1st, you call Sky on August 1st asking for the cancellation, and then return the box on September 1st. On October 1st, you call the telemarkers and re-sign up.

Yes that is correct, but the person who asked the question will still have to pay full price for the notice period month before they can return the decoder.

benmurphy66:Jase2985: Might pay to check the price
its $48 for the basic package and the 2 free channels + either $15 for the HDI decoder or $20 for the Mysky+ decoder rental so at the worst $68 or$78 if you want the HD ticket. and you can get that for 12 months at that price. see below

That is the SKy deal but not the telemarkers deal. I have the contract in front of me and it's $48 + $10 for HD Ticket. Including either MySky or MySky+ rental.
My deal through the telemarketers was $49 including HD, Sport and MySky+...

The HD ticket is not part or the telemarketers contract. It's just something from sky that they can add to your services if you request it.
Mysky+, Sky Basic $29.90
+1 Premium channel $39.00 (in your case, sport).
... then they ask sky to add the HD ticket.... which is why it is $49.

My father-in-law will very soon be moving into a rest home, and is able to have Sky installed there. He is currently a subscriber, but we were wanting to take advantage of this great deal (he's only interested in sports, and his TV doesn't support FullHD, so the $39 package would be best. Does anyone know if it's possible for us to cancel his existing subscription, and for us to then subscribe using this deal (and we would pay for it), but have it installed at the rest home?

I know all that, but Ben said he paid $58 not $49 hence my comment.

That should be no problem.
I believe you could also just order a $25/mo multiroom decoder for yourself and install it at the rest home - that's what a lot of people do for their beach house decoder. I doubt Sky would approve of that though.
