Very happy with my chromecast 2 (have the old rooted version as well).

$9 well spent.

Even comes in another fanpass advertising wrap box.

I picked one up the other week because the young fella has some games on his iPad that we can play as a family via Chromecast. My main streaming device is an AppleTV4 but I do like the Chromecast over Airplay for streaming from mobile devices because you can keep the stream running while you use other apps, which you can't do with Airplay.

Ugh, I cant get FanPass to accept my CC. CC is fine, the issue is the Billing address. Westpac doest have the Billing address on the online banking page, tried whats in iTunes , no go. We have moved, but trying all combos of the old and new address, no go. Ive emailed the bank, but why do FanPass use the Billing Address as well, when everyone else uses CC details expiry and the CCC code?

Even for non recent movers, is it St or Street? Halswell or Aidanfield?  Some people have addresses that are more complex than 1 Smith Street

Try plugging your address into the NZ Post website's postcode finder tool - it should auto-find it once you start typing. Then use what they are displaying. It's likely Fanpass is using Post's database to verify addresses.

I've tried that address.  Called the bank, our CC is one each for wife and I, two cards on a joint single credit card account, the physical address on that is our street address but overall, its a Box number address on the CC statement, so will try that tonight. Cheers!

Just tried in my break, no go. Its only the CC number field thats highlighted, its Mastercard.  I've emailed Neulion. As we have two cards on one account, maybe its looking at the other card, wifes, if its listed first in whatever lookup thing they use, thats all I can come up with

Its going, after and still a few mysteries, check the OT thread I started tonight if u like. Crazy stuff!

FanPass Review - Tennis

On my rMBP its ok. Looks 720p, but not as smooth as I want, like its missing a few frames, but ok. (5Ghz AC, 4 metres LOS)

On my iPad Air, much better. Not perfect, but pretty good. The panning of the background, the crowd, keeps grabbing my eyes attention, bit annoying. Sorta like motion blur. Tickle jerky than motion blur

Ads came on, yet they were 98%+ perfect, in as far as panning, smoothness.

Crowds Gone Wild came on as I doodled around. There, the sporting action was better than the streaming tennis on SS4. Although when watching the tennis at looking down the court it is better.

Note that as Im testing this, Im looking for issues. Interested why ads play sweet and smooth, while the tennis and NRL was pretty good, but not great.

I imagine based on LB or NF, that an Apple TV4 app would be 99% perfect.

Question. On the iPad app I can pause and go back 30 seconds, how can I rewind? I thought I could scrub back 10 minutes if I wanted.

How very bizarre. Must have been a merchant issue.

Maybe the ads play better because they're pre-recorded? That's the only thing I can think of.

I can't wait for an ATV4 app.

Me too. Great having sport. Right now is just for tennis, but I took the month pass to see how I feel leaving it on.

Yep, this is an awesome move.

There's a lot to moan about with Sky. But they seem to be moving in a very promising direction with Fan Pass

Seems the $5 pass is valid to Midnight only - not the normal 24hrs.

However as someone who only ever uses Fanpass to watch Highlanders games I think it's a great idea to start this week and a smart marketing move by them. First target Chromecast give-aways, now this. Nice work.

That makes sense though... after midnight is Saturday.  It's "$5 Friday" not "$5 Friday and a bit of Saturday" ;-)
