Not being rolled out to Vodafone TV customers? Why not?

Will be today.

So this statement is wrong then Grant?

Prime in HD will not be available to Freeview customers, SKY customers with silver MY SKY1 boxes, or Vodafone customers with the T-box.

Yes, incorrect.  Available to all customers with the Vodafone Digital TV recorder and SKY.

What discussions do they really need with the broadcast partners? Surely its just a case of how much and here you go?

It's not that simple, for example on Freeview, changes to channels or any new channels will need to go through the Stakeholders which is TVNZ, Radio NZ, Mediaworks and Maori TV they need to sign things off individually which takes a long time as well as Korida having to deal with the actual switch from a SD Prime to an HD prime and letting people / viewers know that series links will be removed and a retune may need to happen on older DTT products (Mostly Channel PR and Freeview promotion)

Sommet Sports was an example with the Satellite rollout, the space was the issue but the Stakeholders needed to approve the move on tho DTH

From your experience Josh, realistically how long do you think this will take?

The studio shots and graphics on NewsHub looked good at Midday (Didn't see PH this morning).  Thought this might happen today with the format change.  Must have meant some big changes in the News studio.   Nothing in HD on their story's yet though, hope that changes soon.

As others have said, with MW producing Prime News, hopefully that is in HD from the 19th too.

Watched PH, yes the studio was in HD however some elements On screen graphics, such as the bottom right section with the Paul Henry graphic was not in HD, the same applies to the Newshub at Midday, the logo on the bottom right is not in HD.

Reports and external content as you say in SD, you can notice the difference now! But looks great.

Hmm, The NewsHub Logo/Bug looked HD to me.

News gathering camera upgrade will apparently take 7 to 8 months, then news will be ingested in HD.

Awesome!  Will look great then.

Can anybody shed light on how much of a bandwidth saving there is in choosing 1440 as opposed to 1920? And the same for audio - DD2.0 instead of 5.1?

As far as i know, 1440 = 4-10Mbit at the most, 1920 is about 7-15Mbit (during a primetime show like TWD or something along those lines) (this is also just a rough estimate.)

Correct, using the normal methods with a card reader on PC to do so.

With Sky Card?  What's the benefit of this system over the Sky supplied unit?
