That story is nearly four months old.

The previous reply was just yesterday and/as well- so what?

Just that I got all excited and thought "ah, some news from Sky" - but it wasn't. 😀

So am I reading this right - you can get Sky without a dish? Everything is delivered over fibre?
According to Sky's Nov 21 press release, the new box will stream and also have a satellite input option. So I guess, yes all of Sky's content is likely to be be able to be streamed - your "everything is delivered over fibre" - but equally "everything is delivered over satellite".

So pretty much a higher resolution Vodafone TV box to replace the aforementioned Vodafone tv being decommissioned.
But about time all the same.
... except it's not really a like-for-like replacement - sadly the new Sky box will lack some functionality of VTV. It's a step backward.

Hi, found this Wyplay media release

Hi, sorry not sure what you mean, purhaps it was released in this thread earlier and I missed it.

No big deal but it's effectively the same date and contains the same info as Sky's 21 Nov press release which was linked a couple of posts earlier - and which was commented upon for not being new news.

Hi, I dont recall previous releases by Sky mentioning any of the vendors or more specifics on the service and box, this release is more informative than any I have seen todate, purhaps I missed something.

Edit, just realise Brents post above was almost the same as I link, but again, both these contain information not in previous release, in particular Integrator, STB manufacture etc.
^^ The simple point I’m making is that the info in those links has been out for four months - it’s not new or recent. People are posting it here as if it’s something we didn’t already know.

I don't know any of those companies SkyTV has contracted so I'd be interested to know how likely this is to become a successful product and implementation. For example, I'm currently looking to move ISP and I might consider moving to more expensive Sky Broadband to consolidate services providing that this new offering has little likelihood of becoming a buggy mess.
What do people think?

"We" didn't. The links added quite a bit of new info to the topic so I didn't regret reading the very similar documents.
I had difficulty understanding why you wrote "You're having a larf, right?" without explaining why. So thanks for eventually clarifying.
For anyone interested, you can apply for interest here (linked from vodafone page, so probably only intended for VTV customers): https://cloud.skycomms.sky.co.nz/vftvregister
I am a VTV customer, and would be real keen to move over with VTV ending Sept this year... record/pause/play-back is a must
If launching mid 2022 then can only assume the units are already in some homes in a beta program, would be interested to know if anyone from Geekzone have them but likely there will be an NDA in place.
