arnies: Is anyone having buffering issues?

I’m watching Supercars and the quality keeps dropping. I’m on Apple TV with wired Ethernet on 2D 1Gbps fibre
Yep and keeps skipping forward to live if I try pause and buffer a bit

How do you get this offer?

Isn't that the same as the regular 12 months plan for $399 ($33/month)?

Is anyone aware of any deals similar to what they did for the RWC? I used to pay $25/month for 6 months...

Cheers!

Audio kept dropping for me today during and post race. Video quality was solid throughout.

Hi,

I've searched for this but not been able to find a definitive answer.

I have the trial for SSN on Android TV. Sideloaded the app and it plays video ok but you cannot rewind or pause live TV unless you cast it from another device. Pretty clunky.

If I was to buy an Apple TV 4th Gen, would this allow me to watch live sports delayed either by rewinding the live feed or starting the game after it has started and can I then also pause / rewind live games?

Thanks in advance.

Yep. Apple TV works ok. It’s not strictly on demand. On the TV guide ( live) you will find and play all content from the past 24 hours. Also if you start a program late you can scrub back to the beginning. Not sure why you had to sideload on Android tv. My Sony Oled is Android and there’s a version loadable from the play store.

Interestingly I just use a NUC plugged into the HT Amp for this sort of thing and last season it worked really well - This time I paused part way through the game and it refused to go back before the live game and ended up missing about 15 minutes of the game.  I had initially joined late and scrubbed to the beginning but it wouldn't do it again.

Even when I went right out and reloaded I could only seem to join things live and couldn't scrub back. Not sure if they were having issues or if something has changed in the Web interface.

As it was it was really annoying that if I joined a game late I had to concentrate not to see the score while I scrubbed back. When I joined the game I purposefully didn't look at the screen and squinted to see enough and then the announcers shouted out "Another good outcome for the crusaders" or similar so I still heard the outcome before I watched.

The most annoying thing is Sky Own Rugbypass and Rugbypasses tech is flawless - Watch a game and as soon as you click if its still on it asks if you want to join live or play from the beginning. Was flawless.

Thanks.

I get the same behaviour (can scrub back) on my tablet but not in the Android TV App. Kayo Sports and Stan (both Aussie) and Spark Sport ask if you want to watch from live or beginning. Seems like a really easy and obvious update that Sky could add.

I want to like and happy to pay for this service but it needs to work well for the money.

I've done this in the past, and I really like the AppleTV 4th Gen, however this year I have abandoned Sky Sport Now and am currently running Sky Basic + Sport on the Vodafone TV.

This is a vastly superior experience - three day "catch up" on the sky channels seems so far to work flawlessly, plus there are a few extra channels on Sky for sport.

Yes - it is slightly more expensive per month - but you do get the ability to record as well.

I think if you're considering buying another unit, its worth taking the vodafone tv into account and you'll need to decide whether the extra cost is worth it to you.
