Anybody else having problems with FanPass this evening ?

I just fired it up, all fine. Do you mean playing not well, or not playing or starting?

Not playing in Chrome at all. Must be this end

Has the Friday deal been advertised again this week?

Just chatted with fanpass online and they said the $5 deal was a limited time offer.  They don't have any specials on at the moment.

Weird, I got the feeling that was going to be an ongoing thing.
Well right up until it didn't work for many users...

There will be more $5 Fridays later in the year. We'll let people know by email.

From the original $5 friday email

"We’re launching $5 Fridays and we’d like you to try it out first"...

"Conditions apply: Offer available on Fridays only. The $5 pass can be redeemed anytime on a Friday before midnight and will be available until midnight only."

This reads like a permanent deal not a once off which is now being claimed.

An s on the end means many Fridays not just the one.

Suggest next time you put the condition for just the one off Friday in question instead of it reading like an always deal.

Hi everyone,

We apologise for the confusion around $5 Fridays. We ran in to some technical issues the first time around and are working on getting these fixed. $5 Fridays definitely will be back but not likely to be every week, we are still working through the exact timings but will make sure we keep you posted.

And of course....go the ABs!!!

Have a great weekend.

Sorry ChristieL, by the wording you initially put out for $5 Friday's ,the only people confused are you. I was looking forward to Weekly $5 Friday's, only to have the rug pulled out from underneath.

Get your spin doctors to triple check your wording next time before you get people's hopes up.????

If anyone from Fanpass is reading this thread... what are the chances of some kind of Olympics package? I don't have Sky, and would normally I use Fanpass when the cricket is on, but I understand a lot of the Olympic coverage will not be on Sky 1-4, but will be on pop-up channels instead. While I will likely still get a monthly pass to watch the coverage that is on 1-4, I would definitely be keen to buy an extended one to get all the action.

I just signed up to Sky for the Olympics, using one of their related company deals found elsewhere on Geekzone.

Their current offering is likely on a par with what Fanpass will offer, and as I'm on a 80Gb capped plan this worked out better for me.

Not saying it's for everyone, but we decided to opt with 'real Sky' at the discount rate over winter.

Gut instinct tells me that they will be innovating, but for the Olympics and the demand that will create, such innovations will be post Olympics, once the till has been counted, and banked.

It's not a bad deal, for sure. Personally, I can't justify paying for it for 6 months when there's normally nothing on there I would watch.

You may be right. In any event, I'll probably get Fanpass for the coverage they do have, and combine that with the free bits on Prime. I've just checked the time difference and it looks like the day events will be in the wee small hours for us, so watching them live won't be an option anyway (unless I find a way to not have to sleep for a month).

Hi everyone

FAN PASS will not have the entire Olympic package that SKY has. There will be some highlights and key events on SS1-4. We would love to have it all but unfortunately it isn't feasible for us at this time.

Cheers

The team at FAN PASS

I have been using FAN PASS for a couple of weeks and i'm finding the stream quality is not to bad. Edge browser I've found to work the best from windows and the chromecast is really good. Google Chrome browser is like a stop motion video. I'm very disappointed to see that the Olympics will not be available. We have a good VDSL connection at work and a 55' TV it would be great to be able to watch some of the games early at work. I don't have SKY at home and i'm only interested in the sport channels. How hard is it to add a few more channels fan pass.
