I was signed up to FanPass, however you cant really go wrong with $50 per month for Sports/HD etc. $12.50 per week and its well worth it.

Used Fan Pass for the first time over the weekend (for the ABs).

iPad App, Airplay to ATV4.

Picture quality was good (really good I'd say), but a little bit jerky in the fast pans (like following the ball in a kick). It could be a setting on the TV (I will have a fiddle and turn off TruMotion, or whatever LG calls it).

It dropped out at halftime, changing channels (to SS2) in the app then back to SS1 fixed it and it was fine for the rest of the game. Just happy it did not happen during play.

Good work by Sky/Neulion on the App (although, I couldn't see in the App where to buy the pass - I had to go to the website - was I missing something?? - I did have a good look I thought).

Love to see an AppleTV app...

I have been using FAN PASS for a couple of weeks and i'm finding the stream quality is not to bad. Edge browser I've found to work the best from windows and the chromecast is really good. Google Chrome browser is like a stop motion video. I'm very disappointed to see that the Olympics will not be available. We have a good VDSL connection at work and a 55' TV it would be great to be able to watch some of the games early at work. I don't have SKY at home and i'm only interested in the sport channels. How hard is it to add a few more channels fan pass.

Same, but to be fair, Fanpass was not created as Sky Sport in SVOD mode. Its aim was to recover some revenue from those the cancelled Sky. When, Sky moves to full SVOD, or a Satelite or streaming option, then you may have an option to obtain full sport on a sub basis, on and off as required

Hi everyone

FAN PASS will not have the entire Olympic package that SKY has. There will be some highlights and key events on SS1-4. We would love to have it all but unfortunately it isn't feasible for us at this time.

Cheers

The team at FAN PASS

Thanks for letting us know! I'll have a look at the Sky schedules closer to the date to ascertain if it's worth getting Fanpass for the month, which will depend on the level of content that makes it onto the main channels.

We purchased a week pass for the all blacks rugby, league and grand prix.

Wales game had around 3 major pauses, which then resumed.  On the whole the image was great.

I had 3 drop outs as well, fanpass helpdesk fobbed it off as a chromecast issue

My experiences too. Tennis had the panning issue, but some games were better, say 90% of Sky Sport HD. Bit of F1 FP at Monaco, it was ok, better than SD, looked a bit HD so not bad. other stuff I saw, was very good.

The app is coming, I asked a timeframe here the other day, no timeframe, but its well on the way. I'd say small number of weeks. NF, LB, Curiostystream , 3Now and FanPass all on the one box will be great

Hi guys - FAN PASS team here. Glad you are enjoying the $5 Friday offer. We have also just launched on Samsung TVs 2013 and newer - the FAN PASS app should appear in the Samsung Smart TV Hub store.

Hi. Is a Fan Pass app on the way for Panasonic tv's?

Hi,

Unfortunately we don't have a Panasonic App yet but it is on our radar. Apple TV is next on our hitlist.
In the meantime I can recommend chromecast as a great way to get Fan Pass to the big screen in the best quality available.

Cheers
Alex

Hi Alex

Any time frame on the ATV4 app? Weeks?

We have a build in the office which looks awesome but there is still quite a lot of testing to go before we'd feel happy submitting it to Apple.
We'll let you know closer to the time.

Can anyone from FANPASS tell us whether the Apple TV app will have the playback/rewind feature?

Hi guys,

For those of you wanting to know about Apple TV. We've just had another software drop which we are working through and testing. It looks great but still a few kinks and intricacies to work through. We will need to get through those and then do the Apple TV certification process. I am hopeful that we'll be able to release it late in July/early August.

Bj99 - Apple TV will not have the 24 hour playback feature at launch. I would love it to be on all our devices but at present it is only available in the web player. We are working with Neulion on extending features such as this one - because it's awesome.

Cheers
Alex

Apple TV has a software update coming soon too apparently, so hope that doesn't hold things up further.

Interestingly I had a play with my TV's built in web browser which tends to be pretty much useless most of the time, hence I hadn't tried it, and found Fan Pass played pretty well using it. Not as well as on the app on the Samsung Bluray player in the bedroom but it was definitely watchable. Watched the America's Cup and Nascar highlights and once the stream had buffered I experienced only 1 or 2 drop outs and the picture quality was pretty good. While an app would be ideal this'll hold me over untill that happens, may have to purchase a week pass and see how it handles live streaming.

All blacks game tonight is not watchable via fanpass, the other 3 channels are fine, so is Netflix and you tube to Chromecast that I quickly tested.

Up in Mt Maunganui on fibre, worked fine in CHC on hfc for last week's AB match, don't know, not happy, but watched the warriors game instead.

Is Fan Pass server for just sky sport one over loaded or something??

I found pausing it for 10secs then starting it helped the live stuttering tonight. It did seem like the server were getting smashed tho.
