So over the past little while, Sky has dramatically changed Food TV for the worse. It's now even more full of ads, and whilst most of them are actually other Sky broadcast related and it doesn't bother me too much the have reduced the amount of variety and removed a lot of the previously Kiwi content.
I had a few conversations via email with Discovery Australia who are now responsible for FoodTV, and were told things weren't going to improve.
As Food TV is one of only 3 channels we semi-regularly watch on Sky and I felt it had dropped considerably in quality and I also wanted to know if HD was coming soon, I contacted the CEO of Sky.
I was surprised he actually replied back to me. He seems to share my enjoyment of Food TV and whilst not willing to concede much, he did go to some lengths to talk about the flip side of the decisions that had been made.
I still don't like the new direction, but happy enough he took the time out to contact me back directly.
