2FA on the app would drop piracy rates significantly I'd imagine. More content on the App, App being stable, App being able to used anywhere so long as 2FA enabled.

You can only install the app on three devices at a time. I can't see 2FA preventing that from still happening. The key that is used to generate the 2FA code (assuming it is like Google Authentication codes) can be shared between the same people that shared the login name and password of the Sky Go account itself.

Going bankrupt is not better than they are doing today?

Sky faces existential issues. They need to do things exactly right or they face oblivion.

Been hearing that for 10 years+.

They may do, everything does eventually, but reports of their death (to date) have been grossly exaggerated.

You forgot to clarify why. Or you cannot

Again, no reasons why

They may do. Its becoming marginal. Voluntary liquidation, shareholder payout, that could happen. Going by the commentary in these threads, I'd like it to happen. Money wont be saved .But Im quite keen on paying Netflix an extra 50% (YES 50%) premium to get sport....... Checking my moneybox, I can stump up another $7 per month to get sport. Most months.

You are in la-la land if you think Netflix is going to offer you Sport at ~$10/month, especially if it is premium sport like Cricket and Rugby Union.

Netflix have already said they have no interest in going into sport so forget that.

"The company also reiterated its strategic commitment to avoiding live sports. “Additionally, investors ask us about Amazon’s move into NFL football. That is not a strategy that we think is smart for us since we believe we can earn more viewing and satisfaction from spending that money on movies and TV shows.”"

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Your sarcasm detector is broken. It's the point we have been trying to make for months with all these emotional folk who wish Sky will "die".

I have no desire to see Sky TV fail I hope they will innovate and succeed. I hate to see any NZ company fail.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Sky do gouge. But in turn their suppliers gouge them. The rights for sports cost so much because apart from paying players stupidly large salaries, there is a whole army of leeches around them that have a hand out too.  No player of a sport is worth millions of dollars a year, yet alone tens of millions some overseas ones get.  Exactly the same goes for the movie and music markets, stupidly overpaid stars and armies of bloodsucking parasites at every level. Companies like Sky do need to change or die, but so do the industries they buy from. Consumers are buy and large no longer willing to pay through the nose for others to live stupidly opulent lifestyles.

Heh, not sure what reality you live in, but judging by the absolute and continuing explosion of reality TV, you couldn't be more wrong.

You may not like it, but consumers are more than ever likely to attend a concert or sporting event and pay $400 for tickets or more.

I don't like paying that kind of funds, but I do because otherwise, I'd miss out.
