Just saw the about it being removed looking through Spark mobile plans. Guess from then on the only thing entertainment option will include is Netflix.

know they sold to Sky but from that wording looks like Spark will have no more part in Lightbox, probably just finish off incomplete contracts.

”Lightbox included until 6 July. Lightbox will be removed from all Spark mobile and broadband plans from 7 July 2020.”

If they are getting rid of Lightbox then they should be making the plans cheaper.

I agree as most people agreed to lock in to a contract due to this added value even though the monthly cost will be higher than the competition. BUT it will be highly likely that somewhere in the T&C will say something to the effect that they can remove it at any time.

Does this effect legacy plans

Dial111: Does this effect legacy plans

It mentioned ALL plans so I would assume this includes legacy.

I just checked my details in the Spark App. Lightbox is no longer appearing as a add on. I only have a bonus data pack and Spotify now showing. I have received no communications from Spark regarding this change. Not cool Spark not cool at all.

Edit: I have been on this plan for several years.

Pity, would have been nice if they could have kept Lighbox around as part of your plan, but it was sold, so...

I imagine Sky will probably phase out the brand in favour of Neon instead. Easier (and cheaper) to operate one brand instead of two.

This does prompt me to review what other Telco's currently offer.

Did the plans increase when Lightbox was included?

I confirm Lightbox is gone from my app also, only thing offered is 50% off Spotify. I'm on an older ver of the plan so I get Spotify fully covered.

But they sold the plans with that included so would think it was priced in? No?

I won't really miss Lightbox as the last thing I watched there was Handmaids Tale.  Use Amazon and Netflix way more.

When they introduced the entertainment add on for $10, Lightbox was always included with Netflix.

During that time Netflix has increased their price by $2, the price of the entertainment add on remained the same.

Netflix would be the bigger draw card.

Most of content on Lightbox I’m now unable to watch as it doesn’t start from season 1, don’t want to start watching something from the middle.

Just for myself I don’t view it as a $7 saving as Spark start price for 100/20 is higher then others unlimited, and can usually get price reduced with others for contract.

@DjShadow my account details in the Spark App still shows Spotify Premium as free. If that goes there will be zero advantage for me to continue a very long standing account with Spark.

They sold the plans for $x. Added a free extra. Removing the free extra. You've had Lightbox for free, no added cost, for quite a while.
