Last forum locked due to no further discussion on this topic.  However this is still an issue that's just started affecting my MySky HDi box.

I had MySky HDi installed 3 weeks ago and 70% of my recordings over the last week have suffered from exactly this same freezing/pixellate for 1 second every 6 seconds or so, and then skip forward a few seconds.  This affects the entire recording and renders it unwatchable.  Affects programmes recorded in wee hours when no other programmes are being watched or recorded, and no other cordless phone or wireless internet interference around.

I rang sky twice:
- first CSR followed the usual steps asking me to cycle the power, then press the reset etc.  This didn't change a thing.
- 2nd CSR listened to the issue, put me on hold for 3 minutes.  She's obviously found out that it was a known problem because she didn't attempt to do anything more except schedule a technician to come around on Monday.

I'll repost the outcome on Monday.   Anyone else heard of this issue?  Annoying bug.

Overall our MySky HDi recordings have been perfect (expect for the odd clashing / series link bugs etc) but I wont hijack this post...

The only time we have freezing / pixellate / blank screens is during bad weather I know we had a bit of that this week in Auckland CBD. As you've had it going on longer I would take a stab in the dark and guess the dish could be slightly out of alignment? (seams half a degree can make all the difference).

The technician can confirm this on Monday for you, hope they find the cause and you can post back the fix for us all? :)

Yes, it sounds like a reception problem to me. A dish installer with a meter to measure signal strength and quality should be able to fix it.

It's a highly regular stutter.... every 6 seconds, you could almost set your watch by it! Only ever have problems on playback, no issues with live viewing at all. It really feels like a disk/decoding error. but I'll make sure the Sky tech checks the signal levels coming from the dish.

Sky guy didn't ring on Monday as promised, and been too busy to get back in touch.

However, the problem has now stopped. Only change was moving my Vodafone HSDPA modem to the other side of the house... It was just below where the dish was located, so that was probably the problem?

Now looking to re-record Man on Wire again to replace the one ruined by stutter.
