Hmm I think you'll find your dvd recorder will only allow it to be copied to the hard drive, when you try to burn to disc it'll say copy protected, copy once or something similar... And if it's anything like mine and you try to outwit it by going straight to disc or by taping onto VHS and then back to disc or hard drive... You'll find the recorder is smarter than you are :-)

simple solution, take the smartcard out of decoder (after ordering event), stick it in a dreambox or octagon receiver and use that to record, you can then download the files to your pc and burn to dvd that way

will try and copy to dvd-rw and see what happens......I am hopeful cos there is no  cross box by the archive
title on the hard drive suggesting macro protection

I have no problems recording any programmes from MySky which is connected to my DVD Recorder.

I also have a connection from MySky to my PC which enables me to record directly onto my HDD via a TV capture card. I then edit the video (remove the ads etc) and burn onto DVD.

At what res did you guys make your copies?, via which connectors?
I don't think there is a problem getting SD content off, but HD content is usually confined to the box

You must be doing something wrong or have your DVD recorder connected incorrectly.

Are you talking about paid movies and sports events?

I have no issues recording any of the Sky channels.

checked again ....can transfer all channels to dvd recorder hdd but it appears that sky movies(not ppv movies) cannot be transferred to dvd because of macro protection
