Hi -

Basic issue is I want to have Tivo and Sky working in the bedroom - I already have Sky running and wired up on the aerial plug in the wall, so no issues there however given the area I live, I need a UHF aerial for the Tivo to work.

So to save me crawling around my roof space, and putting more holes in the wall for another aerial jackpoint, can I splice the cables (get a joiner box etc) rigged up in the roof space and have one cable taking BOTH the sky and Tivo signals to the aerial jack in the bedroom... Ending up all on one jackpoint, and then I can put a double adaptor on the end...

Any help would be apprciated :)

Yes. http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=83&topicid=62105

You need 2x diplexers, which are designed to combine/split UHF and satellite. Do not use a normal splitter. If you need a UHF amplifier then you have to connect it at the aerial before the diplexer, else the control signals from the Sky STB will not get through to the dish.

You can also use the existing cable as draw wire to pull a new one through. And the single wall plate can be replaced with a double wall plate.

Remove your wall plate, perhaps Sky has already installed a second cable which is just not terminated/used. It is often done for distributing the satellite signal through the house, if you need it in the future.

You can never have enough Volvos!
