I've helped a friend bring these complaints to telecom on 3 occasions.
The first 2 times we were told to ask a hearing friend for help
on the most recent occasion, we were told to open an ASB bank account, and get a hearing friend to set up sms topup (you still need to hear to set that up)
voda's online topup is brilliant - they also for creditcard topup by sms. They have balance queries on their sim2, or just sms "BAL" to 777
i don't think there is any method for a deaf person to check telecom prepaid balance.
Those replies sound a bit insulting. Not intentionally - granted, they were giving you the available options, but it doesn't sound like they were accepting any kind of responsibility. Switching banks doesn't sound like a practical solution, either.
My reasons are a bit petty but, for some or many dead people, I would imagine that $10TXT would be absolutely brilliant if this issue were resolved.
