maxximuscool: @Confrontation,

buddy, Iphone 3GS battery is shockingly worst than the N900. 3G may be but let see if the 3G can do what the N900 can. N900 is comparable to Iphone 3GS. Therefore N900 battery seem to win. Your battery time is astonishingly good. 1 whole day is good. But if you disable and tweak it alittle, it will last you more than 24hours with medium usage. But you have to do some research on how to tweak it. N900 firmware is new, and still not yet updated therefore for now it won't be any better than custom tweaks

What are you basing this on?

It is not expereince as you do not have the N900 in possesion yet...

You are making statements based on guesswork and theory, not accurate and practicle hands-on experience...so for all you know you may be providing inaccurate, misleading and/or confusing information.

Anyway, I've had it. Feed up. I'll stay away from this forum since you think my comments are misleading and false. Anyway thank for the hospitality.

Anyhoooo....

As a result of the rubbish that now consumes this thread, and the fact it is far to long for any newbie to find the valuable and desired information, I am going to start a new thread 'Nokia N900 - User Thread'

It is going to focus on the N900 firmware, updates, apps, customizations, bugs, sites of interest etc etc...
I will update the very first post of the thread with the latest info or anything usefull so any newbie can just read the first post to get all the good stuff...much like I did the N97 thread before I moved on from that phone.

It that thread, OT (off topic) will be any discussion of shipping, or how to purchase, or wait times...if you wish to discuss those issues, please start a new thread.

I am also going to recommend/request to MF that this thread be locked...as I do now think it's mostly full of rubbish.

So it seems I missed all the fun while I was knocked out with the 48hour virus I had.

Euan - Anyone with common sense knows to take a post from a new user with a grain of salt unless it's backed up by other forum members. One does not nessacarily need hands-on experience to know the facts. We are on the internet after all.

Max - You have posted a lot of stuff that frankly is of no interest to other forum members. The majority of your posts have had little difference between them other than your increasing impatience to get your phone. Like I've previously said it's Christmas. Mail triples at this time all around the world and delays can be expected.

On a side note my N900 has finally shipped, 2 days early I might add (I ordered 12th Dec). Should be in the country round New Years. $792.14 in total with Amazon's free shipping.

If a new thread is started the only thing I ask is anything previously posted in this thread that is useful be reposted in the new one. And I don't think "How to Order" should be OT as I know a lot of people found the info in this thread on that subject extremely helpful, myself included.

Ahhhh the good old days, when we could get genuinely excited about phone hardware and software evolution, I remember the anticipation excitement fondly 😁 I loved that phone.
