Hey does anyone know how I can save stuff to my memory card on teh Nokia 6255? Also I don't see any menu that allows you to move stuff from the phones memory to the memory card.
Well if $10 txt is the only reason you bought it, then you got a great deal ($90 saving on txt per month since you bought the phone - its probably paid for itself already)
The issue with the WAP pages should be resolved shortly (if it isn't already), I hear it is due to a very minor difference between phones... some 6255's are fine, others temporarily display WAP 1...
As for all the other issues, I'll write up something next week- it's 4.56 on Friday and there's beer waiting!!!
i'm getting grief from my 6255 - can't get nokia suite to find it.
i'm able to browse the phone's file system over bluetooth and i'm pulling off photos and pushing in ringtones, but the nokia PC suite won't let me connect via bluetooth.
The bluetooth option says "microsoft bluetooth" - what is that? When trying it the PC suite configurator form says i don't have compatible hardware.
So, i tried connecting a comport to the PC suite serial port on the phone over bluetooth. No luck there either because the nokia PC suite only offers comm1 and comm2 - and the virutal serial connections over bluetooth are always comm3 and higher.
any suggestions on what to try next would be greatly appreciated...

I am curious what you do with the MobiMB? I use PC Suite to sync my address book and callendar from Outlook to the phone. I have also backed up the phone with PC Suite, but never had a need to use the backup.
I changed from a 6585 to a 6255 last week, and it was a breeze to simply sync the new phone and have all my contacts and callendar on it.
I am also curious why PC suite would not run on your PC? Its major advantage is - it is free! I tried Oxygen a while back on the 6585, and it didnot seem to do anything that PC Suite cannot do, and costs $$.
I use it for transferring photos to PC as well as getting free ringtones and games and thats about it. It cant actually do the calender stuff etc. so theres really no point getting it unless you cant use PC Suite (sorry for not pointing that out in my last post).
The reason I cant use PC Suite is because im running Windows ME which it doesnt support. There are older versions which do work on ME but sadly they are not compatible with my phone so I had to resort to a program which wasnt free (sorry for not pointing that put either).
What I should have said is that MobiMB is another option after PC Suite and isnt free.
Hey - that is annoying for you -I did not know PC Suite would not run under ME - pity, as there are a lot of W98/ME users out there!
I used PC Suite with my old 6585, and found earlier versions quite flakey, (as was vn 6.4, the one that came with the 6255) but vn 6.5 seems pretty reliable.
Hi, can someone bring me up to date with the software problem which has apparantly caused Telecom to withdraw the Nokia 6255 from sale? The only problem I have is occasionally the phone disconnects with a loud beep. Cheers, George
We're waiting for a fix.. it's not available yet AFAIK, but the phone isn't on sale anymore, so it would seem the powers that be realise the phone does needs fixing. There has been no recall of sold units.
Re the software problems, I am looking forward to a fix. My phone switches off by itself on occasions (around once a week), has once lost all the display and alert settings (wallpaper, ring-tone etc reverted to default) and on two occasions has stopped external sound completely (incoming ring or MP3 play to speaker has no sound, came right after switching off then on).
The phone is great, and I want to keep it once these irritating problems are resolved.
