You should not be using PC Suite and Oxygen at the same time, Oxygen will work without PC Suite loaded. As you know PC Suite loads programs in background mem, you can stop the following by ending them in task manager... specifically you need to stop DataLayer.exe, NclTray.exe, ServiceLayer.exe

cheers,
Jaidev

thanks Bunty, but what are exactly PRI settings? i'm kinda new to these tech terms...
btw, where can i find a good documentation on these terms, explaining what they mean?

I was wondering if there is a shortcut or a way to program a shortcut to Phone Lock? i hate having to go thru 20 menu options just to lock the phone....and turning off the phone and back on for it to lock is kinda not what i really wanted to keep on doing =P

I use the automatic keyguard under the settings menu, phone settings- puts the keygard on 30 ses after use. Stops accidental and embarrassing phone calls!

Menu then * will manuallylock also.

That's key lock. I meant Phone Lock where you have to enter the security code to unlock the phone functions. =P

Sorry Jules - it has never occurred to me to lock my phone, hence the assumption you were referring to keylock.

Why do you lock your phone?

I haven't read the whole thread but I hope I can shead some light on the MMS issue. I just had a conversation with one of the techies at Tcom about MMS on the Nokia 6585's. Telecom actually REQUESTED that this feature (along with some other minor ones such as GPS Positioning) be removed from the phone when programmed by Nokia. The reason they say they did this was "it can create confusion amoungst customers who do not have compatiable phones so we find it easier to just remove the feature completly"....:| I WAS NOT IMPRESSED! As many of you may know, when you send your phone away for repair they often upgrade the software if a new version is avaliable. I think Telecom should bring this feature back and let us send our phones away to have the software updated for free. I for one and not happy about paying $500 for a phone and to learn that the operator is deciding what features I should be allowed to use. I do not at all accpet Tcoms explanation, to me it is just a control measure for them to stop us sending each other pictures and ringtones etc. so that instead we have to PAY THEM to get them, with no obvious way around it. I am going to write Tcom an e-mail about this!!!!! Anybody with me? Lets give them something they cannot ignore!!!!!!!!!

My e-mail is adamj@ihug.co.nz and cell no. is 027 4184766 if anyone wants to get in touch

I am under the impression that MSS was removed from the CDMA Nokia Handsets because the MMS Standard that was used in the 3105 and 6585 is different to the Open wave Standard that telecom are using. This is corrected in the in 6225 and 3205. The PTC Versions of the 6585 had MMS on the units, be never saw it working.

Cheers
Pete

I believe thats correct, Nokia's implementation of MMS is different than what the network is using, so it may have produced problems during testing, hence disabling it.
The GPS function hasn't been activated on the network, so it won't work even if it was enabled on the phone, talking to Telecom, spending 5million+ and flicking a switch will turn it on :P
I don't think you're going to achieve anything writing an email to Telecom, I doubt that they'd even reply. Wait till the 6225 comes out.
