I have been trying to upgrade a TiVo hard drive (320gb - 1000gb) using winMFS and are having a few problems with expanding the drive space. I have been using winMFS 9.3f but have read a few posts that refer to winMFS 9.3g as the right version for NZ TiVo's but can't find it anywhere. Am I on the right track and if so, does anyone know where I can find this version? Thanks.

Yes, you should be using winmfs 9.3G for NZ/Aust Tivos, but it's difficult to find on the net. I'll send you a PM so that you can download it from my Dropbox.

Tivo upgrades to operate with the new OzTivo EPG, support and service. Over 400 performed here so far. See: www.hillcrest.net.nz

Latest stats from yesterday for the OzTivo server showing how many Tivo Series 3 machines have connected for guide updates. Slowly catching up to Aussie. Maybe this could be the Tivo Cup?

*890 units seen (+22 since yesterday), 788 active in the last 7 days*
> AU 458 TSN's seen (+1.6% in 24hrs), 405 active (+1.0%) in the last 7 days
> NZ 429 TSN's seen (+3.4% in 24hrs), 381 active (+4.1%) in the last 7 days

Given the population difference its amazing how close NZ is with AU I guess that means a lot of perfectly good Tivos were traded in with that fetch offer they had running :(

Got to wonder what has happened to all those traded Tivo's? Landfill?

I am out of Tivo's to mod if anyone in Tauranga / Bay of Plenty needs theirs done. Just PM me.

I made provision for the number of inquiries. But there is quite a few that haven't followed through. So plenty of spare proms and sockets on the shelf. Hopefully they won't go to waste.

Spong, Thanks for your PM - I've tried replying a couple of times, but something must be up with the site at the moment. I've passed your details along to them, and they will go with the EEPROM upgrade, and the 1tb HDD upgrade.

Just wondering if there is some way of see what the TV remote codes set in the TiVo are. I set mine on my old one many years ago and when it gets an update or I add a new unit I'll have to go thru the process again and from memory it was a lot of trial and error. Had a look last nite and could not see any codes but they are set..

Just had TIVO upgraded, new prom chip, new 1TB HDD (which has our old programmes saved onto it now) latest epg data loaded -plugged it in and all go. Amazing job - thank you Spong for the upgrade - you rock. To all the developers who made this possible - just a wonderful outcome and we appreciate the hours put into this

Just want to shout out a big thank you to rphenix who did my two tivo's and upgraded both HDD's. Awesome job and everything running great. Also a big big thanks to those developers who made this all possible. Long live Tivo.

The TV remote codes are ignored by the Tivo and just go directly to your TV. You program the remote for your specific TV. If you'd like a copy of the Tivo viewers manual which covers all this, just PM for a link to it in my Dropbox.

Here's a strange one.

One of my Tivos has dropped its name and is now no longer on the HNP.

I can still see it, but it has reverted to its number code name not its assigned name and while I can still see it on the home network, no programmes are seen.

I have restarted and nothing has changed. Still on the home network, but no programmes.

I can't explian why it would drop its name and then drop off the HNP.

My thanks to Simon in Wellington, who modded 6 devices for me.

As in the message above, I have one device that was successfully working with Oztivo, and then suddenly one day shows . Still has the right MAK and home networking shows all of the devices, but they can't see its recordings and it sees nothing on them.

I have tried restoring my original image, on a couple of different hard drives, and reapplying the mods, but no change.

Only the one device is showing this issue, and can't see anything that I did differently with it.

Very strange... But welcome any ideas or ways to correct the device name.

Just checked mine Mike and yes identical symptoms.

Can't see programmes on any other Tivos, MAK is still there and reduced EPG - name change remains.

Restarted again today with no change.

I am now concerned my others will fall off the HNP too.

This issue has just been noticed in the Developers group, and has affected a couple of people there also. There is an MRV key in MFS which has expired, and this is suspected to be the problem. You can likely still copy recordings to your PC, but not between Tivos? It hasn't affected everyone yet, but it may do so, and was not expected. It appears this key was refreshed from the official mothership from time to time previously. Apparently, it may not be an easy fix.
