I think mastodon got a little popular a year or two back, because of all the lack of work from twitter to shut down hate speech etc. But don’t think it ever gained enough popularity. Also aren’t there different mastodons making it hard to be in place place with your friends?

I know I signed up at the time, but honestly haven’t looked at it since.

It was popular a couple of years ago. Then some nodes got full of right-wing, nazis who were banned from Twitter.

Don't go there.
