Reported.
Their Facebook page description does say that it is indeed an "UNOFFICIAL fan page", but I doubt WheedleNZ wants to be mistakenly connected to such personal attacks, especially since they are already suffering from the effects of a less than stellar "launch".

I actually agree with what they saying. Trademe did copy ebay.. In fact most other auction sites were spinoffs from something that was already there. Sam Morgan took something and brought it to the NZ market, he was by no means an entrepreneur. Just in the right market, in the right place at the right time.

Most auction websites these days are remarkably similar. I remember when I first arrived in NZ and used trademe for the first time. My first impression was hmmmm Identical to www.bidorbuy.co.za, a local south african auction site.

I dont agree with the first comment, "Trademe should sue your arse for theft of ideas"

Definition of fool: One who is deficient in judgment sense or understanding. The James guy fits the definition perfectly.

Wheedle to Close for Updates – Will Relaunch

“We have received an extraordinary level of interest from the New Zealand public, demonstrating the real demand for competition in this space,” says Carl Rees.

No, demonstrating that everybody loves a train wreck.

So much truth in that statement!

Well, it's getting shutdown while they do a "thorough update"

This whole thing has been a joke...except no one is laughing.

Who knows, but the intergrated Facebook log in just makes sense to me.

I wonder how long it's going to be before you just use fb to log into everything but your bank.

The problem with most of these Auction sites is that they allow businesses to trade on them get rid of the business traders and keep it to general public If I want retail I'll go find a shop or ebusiness on pricespy if I want second hand I look to the likes of Seller, trademe or ebay

It's not an auction if the price is fixed firm at a retail price
