Hi there team!

This is probably the perfect place to get some advice about a our new business. A friend and I have just started iLights.co.nz a website dedicated to selling and installing Wifi Controlled lights through your Smartphone.

We would like your views on the product, the website. How would you do things differently? What do you like about the idea? And how the heck do I get the hyperlinks to work in this forum?!

All of the info about our product can be found at http://ilights.co.nz. We really look forward to hearing your ideas and views on this. It is a very exciting new product and we would love to start spreading the word.

Thanks in advance,

Ryan and Stevie

Director iLights Ltd

"indivdually" "your good to go" "incase"

Perhaps some spelling and grammar checks would inspire more confidence in your business.

Ahh, grammar. The difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t. Cheers for that. And your thoughts on the site itself? I've had some feedback saying that it looks as though it come from 1998.

Recommend you edit your first post.

I'd say the site is pretty basic and bland looking but it gets the job done.

Personally I'd have picked a template from one of the many free template sites and then edited the content accordingly.

Thank you. I'll try figure out how to edit my first post. I used a site builder called Moonfruit, but the intention is to ump over to Wordpress, when I get some spare time. Joomla wasn't bad mind you. I think the presentation requires a lot of work judging from the feedback I'm getting in. But this is good.

I have just downloaded Market Samurai as well, and am doing the research on SEO. It is a lot more involved than I first thought, I must say.

I wouldn't so much worry about SEO as making the site accessible, information clear and precise etc.

Also when will you have higher wattage lamps available? I would want 100w equivalent personally.

They are on there final checks now, and should be available in a month or so. This is only for the LED light that give Cool White - through to - Warm Yellow thought. The RGB tend to sit around the 60W for the time being. These are being worked on however.

I have to agree with the website looking like it came from 1998.

Why are you using flash? Flash designs really are a no-no especially when it comes to decent SEO. The site you have now is slow and really isn't doing anything special to require flash.

At the very least I'd go and grab bootstrap and redesign it with tidy fonts and buttons. Personal opinion though.. start again. Re-design the thing using flat HTML and if required put a simple PHP contact form in. The site will be a lot faster and will look and work just the same.
