Not sure what that graph is for. My point is some customers could be affected, others not.

Just to show that the daylight saving time adjustment was added to meter graph between 2 & 3am. Note the double width 2am segment.

There does appear to be something weird with the graphing of data usage in our account, but this doesn’t match the actual numbers, as it’s clear from the data usage for the hour of free power that it’s correctly alligned.

In the image below it shows usage peaking between 7 and 8, but the data shows a typical level of usage for the free hour, which wouldn’t be the case if the data and times were actually misaligned (as we have the car charging, and the washing machine and heat pump on only for that hour). Of course, this may not be the situation for all users...

EK told me they'd resolved this, but looking at the dashboard they haven't. It was only a problem on 1st April, since then it's been fine, so I suggested they just move my free hour back one hour that day only rather than work out the core problem.

So, @timmmay, your dashboard is different to mine, in that not only the graphing of usage is incorrect, but the actual kWh figure given for the free hour is incorrect as well?

It's just time shifted back an hour. So power I used 9-10pm is showing as used 10-11pm.

Sorry, maybe I’m not explaining myself well!

In both our cases we are saying the graphical depiction of power used is an hour out.

In my case, as can be seen in the image in my screenshot above, this doesn’t matter as the actual data recorded for the free hour of power is for 6.1 kWh (or 38% of my power for that day), clearly demonstrating that it’s simply a graphing problem caused by the additional hour with daylight saving starting, not that I’ve been charged for that huge use of power in that hour. There’s just no way a mistake her wouldn’t be obvious, given the proportion of usage covered by our free hour.

Are you sure yours isn’t the same? Ie, is the amount of power for that free hour (as noted in the summary table, not on the graph) particularly lower than you’d have expected for that period, if you do typically load usage at that time? Or do you have access to the half-hourly usage data in spreadsheet form (as opposed to the graph on the website, which is clearly wrong), that confirms they’ve charged you wrongly?

Mine's not the same, it was about 2% instead of my usual 15 - 20%. EK have come back and said their data is accurate, which I don't think is true, but for one day I don't really care. They've changed my free hour for that day though, so sorted.

I'm loving it. Usually getting 30-50% of my power for free. I run dishwasher, washing machine to align their heating cycle with the hour. Hot water cylinder also on a timer to align.

I work from home sometimes, so on a cold morning i crank all the heaters in the house for a free hour between 9am-10am, fire keeps the house warm after that.

PM me if you want a discount code to use.

"You would need to have the meter upgraded to one of the following SMCO, ARC, AMS or Metrix"

I've been thinking about doing this for some time now but how did you get your hot water cylinder on a timer?

I got the electrician to wire it into one of these when I built the house: https://www.theben.de/en/tr-609-top2-s-6090101

Originally it was for the purposes of just running an overnight boost if the fire wasn't running or didn't heat enough. HWC would turn on 2am (once fire had died down) and turn off at 5am. That would give me enough hot water for the day.

Now I run it just during my hour of power. HWC (1 hr) + Wetback gives me plenty of hot water, but if I don't have the fire going it's not quite enough (2 of us living here). I'm curious to see what it's like in summer when my solar hot water system gets a bit more heat in it. Over winter the solar just brings my water up to lukewarm. Summer you can have long long showers straight from the solar tank.

Is that for the bottom cylinder element?
