So I have talked with neighbors and they are all having same problem. voltage fluctuating low as 60v to 180v up and down. suggested to them to shut off the main switch but no one want to lose light at the house even its dim. Vector never answer phone. lodged numerous outage report by the app, not a single response. people on the other side of road does not have such problem so it seems on our side of road only.

If others in your neighborhood don't want to follow advice, each to their own, but as others have commented and I will reinforce, you are in a very dangerous and potentially fatal situation.

Can you go elsewhere until the fault is resolved?

@hsvhel not with 3 kids and 4 adults two are elderly. its 3-gen household. hard to move anywhere unless prearranged long time ago. what I frustrated is the Vector is not responding at all after numerous attempts. I wonder whether should I call 111 for this.

Just my opinion but I think you need to get an acknowledged expert to back you up. Get an electrician in, have him/her say you are in danger, then call 111.

@Jase2985 for a report fault? yes tried and waited more thab 45min, no answer. if its for life threatening question, no I still not sure whether its that serious and thought it would just direct to 111 anyway

well people have reported to you to turn the breaker off cause you could get a shock, to me thats life threatening.

just keep waiting on the line, you need to report it and if you keep giving up it will just keep delaying a resolution.

111 aint going to do much as they dont deal with the lines. likely tell you to call vector.

Contact news media. John Campbell loves this kind of thing. Say your lives are in danger. Publicity moves mountains when companies don't want to respond.

Rikkitic:

companies don't want to respond.

but you dont know they dont want to respond though. they are hugely busy, 2 different storms in a matter of days, 200k people with out power, hell in my suburb alone there were 4-5 different places where trees fell on power lines, in some cases they were easy fixes, others took a couple of days.

thats way to extreme at this point.

vector have also stated they will be dealing with larger areas first as they are the biggest wins in terms of people getting power back.

has the OP tried using the Vector APP to log a fault if they cant get through on the phone?

you NEED to log a fault regardless or no one will know there is a problem.

Please dont call 111. There is nothing Police, Fire or Ambulance are going to be able to do for you. You will tie up a valuable resource that could be potentially required elsewhere to save lives or property.

I do realise this is an exceptional situation, but surely there ought to be a mechanism for dealing with life-threatening circumstances (if that is what they are). If OP or others are truly in danger and they can't reach anyone, what the hell are they supposed to do?

If your neighbours are experiencing the same fluctuating low voltage, then it’s a dropped transformer fuse. Ringing 111 or evacuating the house is just crazy!
