Bunnings now stocks more LED fittings. I've also bought another 12x ViriBright lamps and got them for $11.45 each due to a display shelf error. They've mixed the 5W and 8W lamps together because it looks so similar, and so the guy (knowingly) gave it to me at $11.45 each.

Interesting that Bunnings in AU does not stock ViriBright, only saw some expensive old Philips bulbs when we were there a couple of weeks ago.

So has anyone found/seen small bayonet LED bulbs? I am currently using compact floro's but would like to switch to LED if possible. I have had a look but not had any luck in NZ and little over seas as well.

i have some eddison ones , from " lamp specialists " super small 2watt only , i think you should aim for 4-5 watt if you can , but i like the 2w ones

Realise you need the 2 pin style, but good luck. China use screw-in, so that is what you find mostly. Might be worth changing the socket in the fitting.

590 lum/980 lum for the 105/125 cut out sized options

I wonder if the 590 lum 3*3w is bright enough to replace my existing downlights, save the hassle of a different cut out size.

Electrician installed 5 of the 125mm cutout at my house yesterday, to replace the rubbish he installed before. They are bright and looks neutral white. $70 retail, also on TradeMe from someone I actually know. I've got them in the soffit along a deck that is 3m wide, one fitting every 4m approx. It lights the deck up very well, just takes a couple of seconds to switch on (first time takes about 10-20 seconds).

Do you guys know where to get some smaller screw LED, you know the ones, I think they are called E17 or something. my hallway chandelier has 16 of them, so I can get some real savings... and its too high for me to change them often, four have blown, most LED will last 50 years.. so that means I'll never have to change them again.. maybe after 20 years I'll put brighter ones in.

Our new downlight is now out. The D-Lightz is designed and made in new Zealand and is IC-F rated. The driver is included and can also be insulated over.

I don't think they are available. We have a 3x60W E17/SES (Small Edison Screw) fitting in our kitchen. I spent ages looking for LED bulbs but didn't find any of sufficient brightness. I bought some 7W CFL reflector bulbs from Bunnings, but they were too dim, so we are still burning power with incandescent bulbs.

I have not yet seen a surface mount LED lamp to replace the whole fitting either, all those I have seen are too dim.

Ebay. I got some little 1W ones for a reading lamp, they work great, about $4 each. It's easy to get might brighter ones, I specifically wanted low output ones.

Really? I have never found one with the equivalent light output of a 60W incandescent (700 lumen) that weren't some huge monstrosity.
