Im looking at getting the Konnect interface module to hook into my existing Paradox MG5050 alarm system, seeing as their IP150 module i have is pretty crappy for monitoring purposes without having to install some sort of bridge application (ive got the Alarmin android app which was awsome but its stopped working on my latest android patch levels for some reason :( still works on my old phone) and hosting it on a rpi or pc elsewhere (and even their new firmware for the latest ip150 modules forces you to use their own cloud based monitoring solution which they charge for! instead of giving you the ability to locally do anything, the sign of a dying business to get money by forcing a closed system)

I also have a Hubitat working rather well with everything else in the house, but im thinking i might need some help programming the MG5050 to allow alarm arm/disarm functionality, ive got the software and everything but as usual programming one of these systems in never a simple thing that will work first time

Anyone know an expert in Paradox alarms who might want to play with a Konnect Interface addon? ;)

Progress Update: I received my Konnected Interface yesterday and couldn't wait to start setting it up... so I didn't..

Install went failry smoothly bar setting off the alarm a few times (mostly when unplugging wires, great to see the alarm panel itself is protected against that).

Very quickly I was able to monitor the motion status of my PIRs. I then started looking at monitoring the armed state and that got a bit tricky. I finally managed to get that working (by changing how I programmed the output as well as tweaking the potentiometer for the relevant Zone on my Konnected Interface)

I also have the Keyswitch (for arm/disarm) set up using the relay and that works fine.

Finally, I have hooked up (and programmed) the Alarm State (to know when the alarm is going off) but haven't been able to confirm if that was working properly since it was about 11pm by the time I got there...

All in all, very happy, after about 1h updating my Home Assistant config, I was able to have a keypad style interface to let me arm/disarm my alarm as well as some automations to warn me if the alarm is not armed and no one is home.

Happy to help anyone if you have any question although the programming side of it would probably have to be for Bosch panels only since I have only used these ones.

I would love to know how have you done it. I am building a house and the Alarm that will come with the “package” is a Bosch solution 3000. I initially thought it is easy to do but it seems I was wrong. Hehe

First of all, make sure you get your hands on the "Installer's Code" Without that, you won't be able to program outputs/inputs and all you'll be able to do is monitor the status of your PIRs.

Then, the installer's manuals freely available online are a great resource to understand how input/outpus work and how to program them. It's all pretty straigh forward, wich the panel having about 300 "locations" (essentially memory slots) where you can set a value between 0 and 15. The doc details what each mewan and how the affect the overall system.

The rest is just a bit of wiring and messing around. Feel free to reach out once you start the process :-)

Since no one was home when I came from work, I set off the alarm to check if I had hooked up the "Alarm is going off" state properly and it worked, showing me in Home Assistant that the Alarm had been triggered.

That was the last item on my list of requirements.. so I am pretty happy. Double thumbs up for the Konnected Interface, I am now happy that the alarm system can keep functioning the same it has been but also gives us the flexibility to arm/disarm it automatically based on timing, feofencing, presence detection, or whatever else..

Knowing that someone tripped the alarm is also good in case the security camera haven't caught anything or have beed disabled.
