Hi all

Its gone phut. Going to grab another in weekend, needs to be Harvey Normal but they have plenty of models. 3 Adults, but can be more

Not sure what to look for

Are there any special features that are worth having?

Brands to look at and to avoid?

Can any use house hot water as we have solar HW, be good to have a choice to use that if free water available

TIA

Very large thread here. Suggest moderators close this thread as it'll just be duplicate.

We have a Bosch and we purchased circa 5 years ago and it has never missed a beat and cleans excellently. It still looks new. We also have Bosch clothes washer and a Bosch Dryer those too are excellent. I highly recommend the brand.

Modern dishwashers don't use much water. Unless you flush the cold from the hot supply before the DW fills it may not make much difference.

On the other hand, my sister bought a Bosch about five years ago, and last year it died; the cost to repair makes it uneconomical to do so.

We bought a Beaumatic 3 years ago; since then we have had 3 faults. Since then, a little investigation has shown it is definitely not a premium brand.

We too have a Bosch dishwasher. Love it. Quiet and has features that are important to us (ie delayed timer etc), and most importantly when a part failed on it (about 12 months outside of the warranty), they replaced it without question. I would buy Bosch again (from my experience)

Might have to withdraw my recommendation for a Miele - the nut on the top spray arm crumbled away the other day, after more than 21 and a half years of service.  Have bodged a replacement, so the dishwasher is still going strong, but simply not good enough IMHO ;-)

Dishwashers aren't the kind of thing that change much in 6 months, especially given people keep them for years or decades. That thread is worth reading. My recommendation is unchanged.

Had similar experiences with that brand, Never cleaned properly, had to replace the seal early in, The heater packed out.

We have had a few Bosch appliances and no issues what so ever. Fridge, Washer, Drier, Dish Washer. All mint.

Have you considered going to the supplier and Invoking the CGA as it wasnt fit for purpose?

Had a Bosch front loading washing machine, but it had a noisy belt drive and developed an occasional leak that we could never track down.  Replaced it with a Miele, which was a definite upgrade.

How old was it? Was it a basic one or one of their high end? Mine's close to silent, it's a new one, top of the range when we bought it a couple of years back.
