TLDR;

Does anyone know a good brand of LED bulb, 1100 - 1500 lumen (10 - 15W), that's 2700K instead of 3000K?

Background

We're starting to gradually replace bulbs with LED, as the 5+ year old CFL fail. I replaced one room with some Panasonic 3000K "warm white" bulbs that my wife finds a bit cold. They're no doubt warmer than their "cool white" bulbs, but they're cooler than the old 2700K CFL bulbs.

Does anyone know a good brand that's reasonably warm and quite bright?

Finds

Some Philips bulbs are 2700K, but I can't see any 10W+ on their website. I like plenty of light.

Orbit from mitre ten have three packs for $9 that are 2700K. Is this a decent brand? It's so cheap I wonder if they're rubbish.

I have used an Orbit LED (2700K) in a lamp stand and quickly replaced it with a Philips one. The Orbit one has a greenish tint in its light. I tend to now go for Philips LEDs, having tried cheaper brands at Mitre10/Bunnings and the likes of Banggood.

Thanks Robert. I like the quality of the light from the Panasonic LED better than from CFL bulbs, just want something a bit warmer so my wife is happy.

I decided to try some really cheap LEDs from Aliexpress and I can't say I like them much. As with you, even the 'warm' light is on the cool side. The bulbs say 3000k and though they are also the brightest that were available (15w) they are noticeably less bright than the 20w CFLs they replaced, to the point of making the room seem dark and dreary. It is really a striking difference.

I got a selectable warm/neutral white from bunnings, its a different brand to the others, and was in a different location on a disaplay with a switch so you could flip it off and on to test its colour changing. Its very warm when on warm mode, might be worth a look, and when the wife is gone you can flip it off and on quickly to get a better colour from it.

Sounds expensive rich. Also, my lights are on the ceiling, getting near them requires a tall stepladder. I'd rather just buy a standard warm white bulb.

The Scene Switch ones richms? We've got these in the kids' lamps. You just flick it off and on again at the light switch and it changes setting, you don't have to fiddle around with the bulb. These go right down to 2200K, but they dim the output as they get warmer - this was perfect for us (dimming the light without needing dimmers to get them ready for bed), but might not be the perfect solution for the OP. Ours are about 800 lumens at full setting. Again, perfect for a kid's bedroom. I don't know if they offer higher brightness.

To me, sounds like the perfect justification for a complete upgrade to smart bulbs... :)

No, it was a different brand thats not on the website. I got it since there are stuff all 4000k lamps at bunnings, and that was the cooler option on that lamp, the orange is more orange than my 3000k wemo lamps, but its in the shed now.

Wouldnt be bright enough anyway I think.

Nah, an efficient LED version of the  simple light bulb with warm light that's been used for decades will be fine. $10 a bulb, good, $100 a bulb, no.

If they don't have to be dimmable then this looks good:

Perfect, thanks @Paul1977 :) I'll probably wait for a sale then buy a bunch.

Possible bad news...

Mitre 10 says its 2726K, but Philips site for the same model number says 3000K. Philips says beam angle is 150 degrees, and Mitre 10 says 130 degrees.

My inclination is that the Philips site is more likely to be correct, and that Mitre 10 may have copied and pasted some of the specs from another product?

Bugger. Oh well, thanks. I had looked at the Philips site, I was a bit surprised I missed that.

Assuming the Mitre 10 specs are incorrect, then 10.5W might be the best you'll get from Philips in 2700K:

Couldn't find this one on the Mitre 10 website, but someone is bound to have it

I think either my wife might have to get used to 3000K, or I go with a cheap brand like Orbit that's 2700K that might have lower quality light or not last as long.

Thanks all for the thoughts and ideas :)

The 10.5W 2700K from Philips I linked above might be not too bad, it's at least in the 10-15W range you were wanting (although obviously at the lower end).

There must be a reason why the more reputable companies like Philips don't do 2700K in higher wattages, and I can't imagine it's lack of demand.
