Hey team,
So my partner and I bought a new fireplace for about $1500 and got a quote to get it installed. We don't need a hearth as we have a concrete floor so it can just be drilled into that. We need a fluekit however there is already a hole in the ceiling and roof with some flue and a top cap thing on it that has all been signed off. So as we see it all we need is the flue kit and it to be connected to the top part, also the flue needs an offset as the fireplace with not be directly under the hole in the roof.
Anyways the quote we got back was for $2973.26 (see below)
Pioneer Double Flueshield 1 108.70
Fixed Bend SIS 45deg 150mm 2 34.78
Drop Box 250x600mm Black 1 72.17
Drop Box Cap Only Black 1 40.00
Ceiling Plate SIS 250mm 1 36.52
Cambi Flue 150/200/250x1200mm 1 146.96
ADD Cowl 150mm Mesh Bird Guard 1 62.61
Back/Soaker Flashing Galv Per/Metre 2 45.22
Flashrite Roof Flashing 200-300mm 1 95.65
Woodfire Installation & Materials 1 1255.00
We feel like we are being taken for a ride.
Can anyone provide any insight into this. We don't want to be cold for winter be we also don't want to get ripped off.
Anyways thanks GZ
