I am still a beginner when it comes to streaming. I am interested in learning more by experimenting with VLC and seeing how it compares to my browser for playing both live streams and VOD. This is easy when the full url is known, but I am puzzled by a site like TVplayer. The only url visible to my browser is TVplayer.com/watch/. The actual stream is selected internally. I thought about monitoring my data stream but all I see is the IP address for my DNS proxy. I'm sure this is all very elementary but I'm not certain how to proceed. Is anyone willing to help with this?

No idea, I would start with the Chrome dev tools, maybe inspect element for the video source.

There will be instances where tokens are passed and external players will not work. No idea if that will apply in this case.

Yeah theres going to be all kinds of token passing and things happening to obusticate the actual play url,  and the newer site like netflix will have encypted streams as well.

Your better off just using the browser or a supported device
