Just interesting that this episode also features the U.S.S Difiant and the Terrian Empire which was also featured on Star Trek Enterprise Episode 18 - In a Mirror, Darkly (Part I) and Episode 19 - In a Mirror, Darkly (Part II)
Hinted at the same thing in my last post as not to give away spoilers, all links to future DS9 run ins with the mirror universe.

Star Trek Enterprise passed me by, so just watching S1E1 now on Netflix.
What is with the super naff theme music?

Soft-rock-country-power ballards were very big in the 00s, dont'ya know......
The theme for Enterprise is one of the worst decisions ever made in television production. They tried to revamp it a bit in season 3 or 4 but the damage was done. That show had a lot of potential and did some very cool things, but the theme just set the wrong mood going into every single episode.

Resumed today if you hadn't noticed.
Another interesting direction...
When I went to watch this last night, it said the episode isn't available until Monday, anyone else seen this?
Monday Night American time, so Tuesday Morning for us.
Yeah but its telling me its NEXT Monday, like the 15th Jan.
Yes that is when the next one is :P
gehenna:The theme for Enterprise is one of the worst decisions ever made in television production.
gehenna: It screens Sunday in America, which is Monday in NZ, and it shows up on Netflix at 8pm Monday evenings NZT on Netflix.
OK, it's 8:35pm, Monday, and I can't see the episode on my NZ Netflix. Can anyone see it? Hanging out for my fix...
(The episode is available on the dodgy-net already, but I'm trying to be good...)
Well golly. Feels from earlier in season to now about how was going..

Well, he's gone. Good.

gzt: Eh?
It was dragging, and multiple eps leading up to the mass use of the SporeDrive was just plain.. yawn. Had no direction after the pilots oh-ah effect and 2nd-3rd ep.
You can see by comments here early in the thread with others agreeing they would 'keep watching' to see where it went but weren't quite totally taken with the new format.
Traditional ST world visits or encounters didn't tend to span multiple eps like this has been. I know they are meant to build characters up to set the scene for the new ship and so on, but they way it was being done was like watching a reality tv soap opera. Just not really ST-ish.
(and many ratings trends agree it dippled out in the middle toward end)
Yet straight after the post production catchup break theres more action and what is trying to be achieved seems to be laid out a lot faster. Likewise, ratings spiked again.
