invisibleman18: True, although the Arsenal ones, although slightly biased weren't too bad. To be fair even the City and Spurs ones were tolerable, it was MUTV with Pat Crerand that was unbearable. He go off his nut about an opposition playing trying to con the ref if they so much as appealed for a throw in. I never watched Liverpool or Chelsea TV on Sommet as I didn't have access to UHF frieview. Most of the time Arsenal TV had Stewart Robson who goes out of his way to be anti-Arsenal so it often went the opposite way.

Well yes, but the Spurs one was a bore - he thought he was playing Mastermind - specialist subject Spurs, irrelevant trivial statistics.  He would say stuff like - "it is 46 days since Bentaleb last scored", "this is Spurs 3rd thrown in in the opposition half" etc.  Also, the Spurs one didn't ever show the time elapsed in the top-left corner.  That was a pain if you wanted to fast-forward to say the 80 minute mark.   Agree completely about Paddy Crerand - to the point that it was actually laughable rather than annoying.  The City commentator was probably the most objective.

Yeah Spurs TV not showing the clock was my Dad's complaint most weeks. Who decided it would be a good idea to not display the clock in a football match? Surely they have had a lot of feedback about that.

I
t seems they're now going to run streams at 30fps rather than 25fps. Also an "interactive in-game timeline incorporating Opta live data into the stream".

Interesting.

Could the higher frame rate improve the stuttering I had when the laptop was connected to the computer via HDMI? Or would it mean the computer has to work harder and it could be worse?

Could improve the stuttering. You would have to have a very slow computer for it to make it worse.

Should be worse with higher frame rate.

If the stuttering was due to the poor computer performance then yes, it would be worse, however many users experienced stuttering from the stream on computers that don't have an issue with videos that are even more demanding.

At the time, it appeared that the stream itself was stuttering every few seconds, and was particularly noticeable when panning. Hopefully the higher fame rate will fix this, however other broadcasters stream at 25fps and have no such issues, so it remains to be seen whether or not this will be an effective solution.

Just seen NBC are able to have all matches available on demand http://worldsoccertalk.com/2013/09/13/nbc-will-make-all-premier-league-games-available-on-demand-via-nbc-sports-live-extra-beginning-this-weekend/ why not PLP?
at the start of last season they were only able to have 1-2 games on demand but they negotiated in the early weeks of the season and were able to get all matches on demand starting mid september.

I've had a quick flick through - on what page do you see the 30fps reference? I've read from p90 onwards.

The Opta data in real-time is great - CBC Sports in Canada do something similar.

The price difference is because we're solely digital rights holders in those territories. Its on multiple TV networks there also.

was wondering if that was the case.

are you able to comment on the link I posted above (http://worldsoccertalk.com/2013/09/13/nbc-will-make-all-premier-league-games-available-on-demand-via-nbc-sports-live-extra-beginning-this-weekend/) how nbc in america are able to have all the games on-demand and aren't limited to 250? seems they were going to be limited to 1-2 a week but negotiated to be able to have them all. it looks like it works the same way as here with games available to the next saturday.

Thanks for the info. Will be using the free trial for the first round to test it all out before paying out anyway. Last season it was perfect on my laptop but when connected to the TV via HDMI it juddered as if it was filmed on a handheld camcorder. I have used the same method for other steaming services like Arsenal Player and Sky Go and not had the same issue so don't think there are problems with my equipment.

Can someone confirm that the Apple iPad app will continue NOT to be able to AirPlay to Apple TV?

Other thing - can someone remind me how much the 'standard' subscription was last season - has it gone up a lot?

Do you have a source for this? Can't see it in 'the Bible'.
