Sky had their faults too. Personally, I like PLP, as I get to watch every game my team plays, rather than about 2/3 of them, like Sky used to show. I guess if you're a "big six" fan, you might feel differently.
If Sky won back the rights, I'd hope they show every game, they have enough sports channels to do so.
You won't get your money back. you agreed to the terms here http://www.coliseumsportsmedia.com/plp/tos_pay.html when you purchased the subscription which clearly say no refunds, you could probably try argue under the Consumer Guarantees Act but your argument that you said in your post is pretty weak. But your best bet is to argue the product doesn't match the description where it says
access to clipped highlights and condensed games
last year they didn't have these, they only had short 60-90 second video recaps. you could argue that the description there is like what the NHL, NBA and NFL products (which are similar products, using the same neulion provider) offer which is a short video of highlights for each game (which for the nhl is about 4 minutes) and then they have a condensed version of each game (which for the nhl is around 10 minutes)
when I bought this up with them last year they offered me a refund. I thought they would have changed their terms but they haven't.
If PLP fails they will argue that there isn't interest in broad coverage and will only show to 6 maybe, unless there's golf or English / Indian domestic cricket.... Or maybe ultimate fighter or similar tripe.
I supported a minor team and sky coverage was woeful.
I've never had any problems using a HDMI Apple laptop connection and expect similar device using NUC htpc setup.
I am really looking forward to watching the first game tonight.
However, this is in spite of the crap plp service, not because of it. I'm reduced to mirroring my s4 @ 1200 kbps to my plasma and I'm worried that the high load on the plp servers will ruin it.
Sky were in desperate need of a kick up the arse, but I really wish they hadn't messed around with the footy in order to get it. The PL hamstring providers too - look at the state of beIN, not getting live streams in the Middle East because of the nebulous fear of piracy. The whole thing is a mess now. The system of selling of groups of rights to parasitic companies like MP & Silva isn't working. They don't care. They just want the cash. If PLP fails, or gets outbid at the next turn by Sky, it's just another upheaval and another bout of uncertainty.

Like I said, it doesn't matter if I win or not. It doesn't have to be a strong argument. But It just has to be something other than they've represented and a substantial failure that can't be remedied - in other words, not telling people that there is no other support for anything except their preferred providers. If Sky decided to go into partnership with Sony, and then rigged it so that the only way you could conveniently see their services on the TV was to buy a Sony TV, then that's a similar failure that's substantial and can't be remedied.
They're actually telling you it's provided "as-is", and they're counting on people reading two different terms of service and finding "as-is" halfway down. If you sell a car as-is, you have to make it absolutely clear upfront. You can't hide "as-is" in one of two terms and service and then expect to defend yourself with it. And putting that in the terms of sale in the first place is an indication that you know that your service might not be fit for the purposes you're selling it for.
Amongst other things, that's the argument anyway. The good thing about the Disputes Tribunal is that it's not just in reference to the law. It's about what's fair. There's no precedent set by their decisions, so there's leeway.

Well yeah for me personally, I was able to watch every game my team played in HD and on my TV with no issues and no extra work to get it working properly and that's what I hope to go back to. Now, because I don't own the right brands of equipment there are no apps available to me so I have to put my laptop on the floor and plug it into the TV to watch games with a headache inducing motion judder that make it looks as though it was filmed on a handheld camcorder, and I have to pay extra for it.
I certainly see the value of it for fans of clubs who weren't shown every week, and for people who are happy to watch on small tablet and phone screens in bed or on the bus or to save fighting over the TV with the rest of the household. But watching my team is something I cannot go without so I am at least thankful we get to see the games at all in this country, so if settling for an inadequate viewing experience is our option then I'll make do. My hope is that whoever (whether it's Sky or someone else) wins the next bid provides a service as good as Sky used to. This crowd have so far not shown they can.

Of course, if I could just watch it with a smooth picture and no judder on my large screen TV I'd be firmly behind PLP, but I own an LG TV, Windows phone and no tablet so that doesn't seem likely at present. I got a 6 week free trial to Quickflix and I tried it out this afternoon by watching a movie through the PS4 app and it was absolutely perfect. A playstation app for PLP can't come soon enough for me.

I think to be fair to Sky, it's not just them that decide on what gets broadcast. It's even the case that even though they have the cameras at every stadium, not every game is broadcast in the UK, certainly not every game live. This stuff is down to the Premier League and their broadcast rights. Sky have always been quite good in being able to get the majority of games on. And they were much better at it before they reverted to this fetish of playing as many 3pm Saturday kickoffs as possible.
Personally, I don't get that. It only matters in terms of winning and losing at the end of the season when one result could decide another team's final outcome, but there's a whole bunch of traditionalists who love the 3pm thing. I think they hark back to the days when we had one game live on a Saturday afternoon, followed by Final Score at 5pm, followed by MOTD at 10pm.
