Ok, so I've just looked at the T&Cs and it states:

Offer is available until the end of the 2014/2015 Barclays Premier League Season for all existing Spark Broadband Customers. To take up the offer you will need to request a voucher code and then sign up to Premier League Pass at www.premierleaguepass.com. Premier League Pass Monthly begins when you purchase and will continue until you cancel the service. The earliest date you are able to cancel your service is 31 July 2015. Offer is not applicable with any other active subscription offer, including Free Month Pass, you'll need to wait for the conclusion of this free month before applying this offer. Standard Broadband charges apply. Compatible device and broadband required.

Note I received my discount code but haven't tried to use it (I'm waiting to see if any other offers come through).  However these T&Cs don't make much sense to me - only available for 14/15 season, but I didn't think they offered a Monthly Season Pass last year.  Apologies if I've led people astray.

Any more news on codes or discounts?  After two years of not really watching my team since Sky lost the rights, I might have to succumb as this season looks promising for Man Utd despite the lack of purchase of a more confident centre back... but hey, we have enough cover and we can always try and score more than the opposition right?

Thanks for the spark offer. I pay $15 less per month for flip broadband so probably cheaper to buy plp outright.

As for man utd. If you had watched them last season and pre season, I don't have much hope of scoring many goals.

So I just received an email from PLP offering Lightbox free for 3 months if I signed up in August...

Would rather they just reduced the subscription price!

yeah same, I have no desire for lightbox.  Why can't it be a VOD service as well as an addon to Sky... I'm pretty sure that Optus D1 is full, but hey at least putting that out there... While I'm not happy that I have to pay another 20 bucks a month for footy, if I could get it on Sky, similar to Rialto etc. then I might just do it!

Hasn't got me off the fence i must admit.. kinda leaning toward not bothering, settling for match of the day, Club website and whatever TVNZ may offer us..  Then maybe look at the part season sub if i miss it that much..

Hadn't got around to renewing yet as I was waiting to see if there might be a last minute deal if numbers were low. Guess this will come in handy though as was planning to try the free trials for Lightbox/Netflix etc with a view to possibly dropping Sky after the rugby World Cup.

Based on this and the same deal for the golf, does this mean that Lightbox (Spark) are in control of Coliseum sports?

Bit the bullet and reluctantly renewed my sub.  and no the free Lightbox wasn't the tipping point.

Looking forward to this weekend now.  Bring on the new season! YNWA

lightbox is 13$ a month, you can sgin up for 1 month free now anyhow so they are effectivly giving you a 26$ discount, but that is only if you are interested in getting lightbox. I'm not and would rather the 26$ discount, at least. I think last season it was 50$ discount.

I wonder how much the equivalent sky package would be when sky had the rights to the footy? Although lightbox+PLP(~30$) is probably still cheaper and better service in that you can watch wehn you like, but some might argue about picture quality.....

think I may wait and see if you can just buy a month pass as you please, I would doubt that will come though. Pity cos I really want to support this service.
