This. The app and/or back end simply not fit for it's primary purpose, not just minor bugs. As the public broadcaster, relied upon for getting messaging out when there are states of emergency (as is currently the case), there should be far better testing before release.

Have no ability to control the volume in the web browser, going to full screen ends in spinning wheel of death. Exiting full screen exits the video in full screen but leave the browser in full screen requiring a F11 to get it back to normal.

who the hell release this pile of junk

Hmm some fun errors under Firefox on Linux

Most of the images for the TV Shows or Icons are loading very very slowly or not at all.
Bunch of weird errors in the console like
- Cookie “__tld__” has been rejected for invalid domain.
- Cookie “_gcl_au” has been rejected for invalid domain.

Need to check my TV to see if it updated

Generally known online as OpenMedia, now working for Red Hat APAC as a Technology Evangelist and Portfolio Architect. Still playing with MythTV and digital media on the side.

This just gets better and better. Force quit the app (Apple TV) because it was stuck on live TV, now you gotta sign in again but it doesn't recognise the existing email address.

Wow. This simply should not have been released into a production environment.

This new app is not good. Can no longer use the app in landscape mode and only in portrait mode using iPad.

I have not noticed a lot of difference quality-wise on Apple TV box.

Annoyingly I can't go back to the home screen from live tv without restarting the app.

It's even worse than that. Once you select a live channel, that seems to be the last input you can make. Watch that channel forever or restart the app.

It's buggy, slow and frustrating to use. Must have employed some WIndows 11 developers to help out ;-)

Updated the app on Apple TV earlier this evening. Just tested in the light of the above comments. We have these issues too.

Unusable.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Upgraded my Chromecast today (forced to). Used it to watch the first 30m of the TV news. Seemed to work.
Have yet to watch anything else on it yet.

No signature to see here, move along...

On demand content now broken on my LG C1 OLED and iphone.... still works on the Apple TV... but gawd its doggy.... it used to be pretty swift scrubbing back and forward, now it feels like you are struggling in treacle...

I would be very interested to know who did the acceptance/beta testing on this thing, because the current back end is really struggling... and the whole one time code thing is just bizarre for a public broadcaster.. although I'm guessing its a FIFA demand for their PPV World Cup content

I don't think it's been done.This is so bad it can't have passed even rudimentary testing in this state.

The OTP was trumpeted in the pre announcements, but so far I got asked for it twice within about 5 minutes (after the app locked up). That's going to get frustrating real quick.

Running Chromecast with Google TV here and app updated at some point in the last 24 hours. Watch-list is definitely well out of date and it's not keeping track of two episodes of a programme we watched tonight.

However, no issue with watching a channel stream live and then exiting - it worked just fine. Also haven't noticed a reduction in picture quality. Can't comment on any issue with subtitles, as the episodes we were watching have not yet been broadcast free-to-air and so don't yet have subtitles (which belongs in the "Something that really annoys you" thread).

TVNZ app is somewhat broken on Android tv after the update too. news worked but the chase just brought up an error code
