Loismustdye: Anybody javing issues currently with the tvnz app on any device? We are constantly getting shows freezing partway through on both our lg tv and on an apple tv. No issues with any other services or online activity so unlikely to be with our fibre connection..

 

Yep that, plus the something has gone wrong message multiple times last night trying to watch The Casketeers via a Chromecast with Google TV

Works on xbox, but lg tv app just throws the no internet error, has done for weeks

Having the same issue on the LG telly, apple tv and nvidia shield tv. Guess I will just have to go the internet route to finish kin (the tv show we were watching)

Sounds like we're experiencing the same problems, of a show that freezes every now and then but can be resolved after exiting and trying again a few times.

I'm pretty sure it lines up with ads - it possibly freezes just before an ad would show, after fixing it is ready to play an ad before continuing the show.

Might have to query the ondemand team to see what is up with their ad serving

I previously reported to them a few months ago and it didn’t get fixed. But it has been especially bad this week.

My parents have been having issues with the TVNZ+ app on their Panasonic smart TV the last couple of days.

 

They've rebooted the router to see if that fixed the issue but it does not appear to have for very long.

 

People on our local FB page have reported a similar issue of the app freezing/audio cutting out for short periods of time.

 

They have also reported mixed success uninstalling/reinstalling and logging in/out of the app.

Same here. Although only watch the 6pm news. The unskippable advertising on their general programming is insufferable.

something that tripped me up after i got a new tv was updating the tv OS. a lot of app problems can be because your running on old OS.

 

for me the auto update wouldn't work. i had to manually update the OS first.

It is worse on certain programs. It doesn't seem to affect live/delayed news for example. But does affect Millionaire hot seat recordings. I think it could be related to the ads when they come up, i then decides to crash out.

I've had it crash a couple of times on my mi box s while watching shows. I blamed it on a pretty poor update of the OS to android 12 (TV) - but perhaps it isn't related to that as all other apps seem fine now.
