Anyone else currently having issues with the TVNZ App?

 

I’m using an Apple TV, and a lot of programmes aren’t playing - it just goes to a black screen.

 

A few seem to be working, but quite a few aren’t. I’m currently trying to continue watching Farscape (I’m on episode 17), but it just won’t play?

 

Would be interested to hear if anyone else has the same problem?

Would check but currently watching the All Black game. :)
Had no issues early this evening however.

I thought I saw a post here in gz a week or two ago saying that TVNZ app had a DRM change because of sports. Yeah watching Farscape as well. Was working on my Chromecast last nite.

I have Apple TV 4K, tested Farscape S01e17 it played fine.

 

I also have Apple HD one, haven’t had any problems with that one and TVNZ either. Haven’t tested Farscape on it.

 

I watched all the Farscapes many years ago and enjoyed it.

 

Edit: Latest TVNZ Applic version is 4.0.0, maybe you need to update.

OK, thanks for checking.

 

I’m not sure what the problem is. I’ve just tried the same episode on the TVNZ App on my iPad, and it won’t play there either. It gives an “unrecoverable error” message, which sounds a bit final! All very odd.

It seems fine for me tonight. However, last night, in the middle of a streaming program, it told me that my profile didn't exist, and stopped streaming. It then proceeded to show that I had no profiles at all. Restarting the app didn't help, so I suspected there was a back end issue. I left it a few hours, and it seemed to start working again.

OK, that’s interesting. I was just beginning to wonder if it might be account/profile related. I’ll leave it for tonight and see how it is tomorrow.

When I tried to update, it reported insufficient storage (TCL 50") - and said I had only 8 GB, which surely should be fine; deleted a few things, and it still failed. Deleted a few more things, including TV3, and it installed -- and  then TV3 reinstalled fine.  Go figure.

Broken on my Apple TV Friday night. Just went to a black screen. Tried a reboot, no better. Haven’t tried since as was out Saturday. Suspect it will be all good today…

The 4.0.0 was for Apple TV, I have 5.0.1 on my iPad as well and is also playing s01e17. I took a screen shot, with it paused shows season, episode number and video controls, but looks like the DRM blanks out the picture for screen shot, the picture is there when playing.

Is there any point in long, random, passwords for apps accessing free content?

Not sure if this is an app problem per se, or perhaps even a problem, but does anyone else find the Ashes cricket coverage to have annoyingly loud crowd/ambient noise compared to what was offered when the same source broadcasts were on Spark Sport?

 

I don't know if this is a function of how the TVNZ app works compared to how the Spark one used to, but the background noise is appreciably louder to my mind.  Using the same TV and android box, it's the same Sky UK feed, what's the story?
