Yeah, that was my thread. After that I did serious home work and costings on switching providers, but where I live VF is by far the quickest option (for everything except Netflix that is...)

I hope they do something before the long weekend!!

Definitely hope Vodafone fix, no UFB here so their cable is my fastest option.

Any other Vodafone people finding Netflix UK acting up too now?

Whilst I too advocated this position and to some extent still do, it's hard to blame people for getting restless. This thread is getting long so things might have gotten lost, forgive me for making a point made earlier: by continuing to duck and dive, and in some cases allowing outright wrong/misinformation to remain on their own Community Forums (where their staff made posts days ago basically claiming everything is everyone else's fault - a position that VF seems to adopt with remarkable consistency when issues arise), they are pushing things down a predictable road. As Unotelly and all the other providers have pointed out, multiple fixes are available. Some, if implemented (like specifying that US Netflix CDN IP ranges are not to be subject to caching) are obviously hard to defend as moves other than deliberately aimed at placating Netflixers. But things like respecting "no cache" requests/strings have clear value elsewhere.

By so far not doing anything and set alongside (for example) the recent introduction of unlimited plans, they open up the possibility of people "connecting the dots" -- rightly or wrongly -- that they are aiming to control traffic volumes in a backhanded way. You said it yourself, Mauricio, people expect to pay to just have their internet traffic directed in a neutral way.

All this coupled with generally unprofessional customer service at large and certain instance of, err, unprofessional behaviour by their reps in various places, it's not hard to understand the anger. For MY own household, if VF never fixes this issue, we'll just upgrade to Unotelly VPN since my partner and I often just watch things right in front of our large computer screens and VPN introduce a lot less hassles in this regard. But we'll absolutely be getting out of VF once our contract is up and will stop recommending them to anyone.

Hi JimmyC – luckily my contract with VF expired two days ago so I am free to leave them now (timing couldn’t be better given this Netflix problem). I have been weighing up my options, going with either Telecom or Slingshot, assuming that their ADSL performance would be more or less equal – is that not necessarily the case? How can I find out which will offer the best performance?

people on VF are talking about having issues the last few days, but for me i've never been able to stream Netflix on VF. the only time Netflix would work for me was if i streamed off a PC, if i tried to watch it on a PS4 or Nexus 7 tablet, i would have massive buffering issues or it wouldn't play at all. very annoying once i found out it's all because of VF (i just signed up to a new plan so unfortunately can't look at other ISP options unless i want to pay contract termination fee.)

I have to +1 this as I'm surprised too. Netflix never worked properly for me on ps3/wii (usually fine on pc) when on Vodafone. Reading geekzone forums at the time educated me that it was something to do with their transparent proxy and there wasn't much I could do.

I've moved to Snap and haven't any issues since.

Try different DNS providers AND servers. Don't always assume the closest DNS server will provide the best results. There's some weird routing\peering within the VF network, not all of it is proxy related.

Connect via VF Cable 50 and was watching UK Netflix without any problems last night.  US Netflix still not working.

I've been on cable for 13 years now so I've been free to walk for a long time.

Check out TrueNet.co.nz for comparable product speeds tests from the different ISP's.
