For the last two nights I've been unable to watch anything on Netflix. I can access Netflix, browse the catalogue at good speed, but as soon as I select Play on any title, all I get is the endless spinning wheel of death. I've rebooted every single piece of equipment I have but still the same result.

I use Getflix for DNS services, but since I can access Netflix fine I don't think it's related to them.

Any ideas?!

I've had the same problem with Netflix both on Apple TV but also on a Sony TV (KDL-55HX750).

I've reset all equipment, all connections are wired and I get the same result on Unblock-US, Unotelly and Getflix (I'm trialling all three at the moment). Hulu Plus and Amazon Prime Instant Video are fine.

I am on the Vodafone (old TCL) cable network.  In response to an earlier related query on Geekzone today I rang Vodafone to see about either bypassing or being on some sort of exclusion list for their transparent proxy and was told that is not possible.

I'd also be interested in others experiences particularly over the two few days.

Helpful or not, but I've just finished watching a movie via Apple TV to Netflix (neatherlands).

I'm using unblock us on telecom Adsl.

Yes, I am having the same problems with Amazon FireTV/UnoTelly now...

I tested UnoTelly on my PC and Netflix plays fine on browser. It seems this problem only affects devices such as FireTV/Apple TV/Roku for some reason and it is not related to being on VF cable.

Hulu still works fine on Amazon FireTV with UnoTelly.

Hi All,

It appears that Netflix is not loading the correct streaming catalogue correctly.

To test if this is the case, go into search in the Netflix app, find any random title, click play. See if it plays.

Regards,
Nick

Folks, I have changed the subject to reflect it may be affecting more than one ISP.

If you can't stream Netflix please post a reply with which ISP, device (OS/version) and which service you are using that would help.

Also please visit http://www.lagado.com/proxy-test and let us know if it thinks you are behind a proxy or not.

Network: Vodafone ADSL
Service: UnoTelly
Browsers: Chrome (default), Internet Explorer 11
Affected: Sony Bravia TV, all computers (Win 7), all Android devices (4.4.2) - all firmware/software as up-to-date as it possibly can be

Still having problems despite implementing IP Filtering as suggested in the link posted by the BDFL in another thread:

freitasm: I have just received some information from UnoTelly support. It seems Netflix has changed something and we may need to null route some DNS servers. More information in this article.

My router is a Huawei HG-556a which is not mentioned in the UnoTelly article but the following settings work to block the mentioned IP addresses nicely:

All you need is a filter name and a destination IP address - a shame it doesn't resolve the problem. Fingers crossed for a speedy resolution as I can see this being implemented in other markets before too long. Now to purge Silverlight to see if this has any effect (breath not being held).

Ive tried firefox, internet explorer, iPad and Apple TV - all failed this morning - this is via Unblock US

Via Hola t a netherlands worked, and i may try switching region to something on the ipad/pc.

Yes confirmed, I used the unblock us region switcher to Brazil and both the iPad and Internet Explorer were able to play videos.  So seems to be something up with the US region.

At Freitasm's request I looked at http://www.lagado.com/proxy-test which confirmed I'm not behind a proxy.

Same same. I've also completely uninstalled Silverlight and allowed Netflix to reinstall the plug-in. Unsurprisingly, didn't work. Could they be utilising the DRM tech built into Silverlight to determine geographic location based on computer settings or am I getting a far fetched here?

Looks like I am the lucky one:

Another device is working:

UnoTelly/Telecom/iPhone 4s is fine with Netflix USA

Unlikely given two of the devices I tried don't use silver light.

Seems to be something weird with the US region. As switching off it worked.
