CYaBro: Yup much prefer the choices we have now rather than being limited to sky.
We just subscribe to one service for a few months and catch up on stuff we want to watch then cancel that one and subscribe to another service for a few months. Rinse and repeat.

I cannot upvote this enough.  Paying for multiple streaming services (especially 3+) seems a bit frivolous to me.

clinty: So no access from NZ today - just the "sign up to know more page"

It has gone live in Aus

Read the post from kiwicom65 about half a dozen up from yours. I'm not expecting a general public launch.

I had read that post - my posts were in response to impracticaljokers question a few days a later and a quick confirmation that it hadn't launched in NZ on the 11th

Kicking the thread off again as Netflix are loosing Star Trek Discovery to Paramount+ globally effective Season 4 of Discovery in less than a week.

If that's true as the tweet seams to say them Channel Internet is going to get a lot of use if it's not on Netflix in areas where there is no Paramount +  like NZ.

And I suspect that Picard in Feb 2022 will also go down the same route... + any other upcoming Trek Marques such as Strange New Worlds

I was really looking forward to Discovery Season 4, feeling a bit sad now.

I'm not allowed to say how I actually feel about the situation with Discovery. I was also quite looking forward to it. I'll simply say that, I'm not impressed.

Would the deal Sky signed with CBS earlier this year be part of the delay of Paramount+ coming here?

I would say that's a very good reason why we won't see P+ anytime soon.

I'm curious to see whether Neon will carry Discovery now given the Sky deal or if we won't get it at all.

On that note: I wonder if Space Force will get a second season.

TVNZ has recently announced a content deal with ViacomCBS (aka Paramount), said to have grabbed the rights for Paramount+ 'originals'  - I wonder if that includes the Star Trek shows. All they've mentioned so far are the various CSI/NCIS variants etc.

I  thought Sky had the paramount/CBS stuff?

edit - online streaming rights are just plain weird.  Used to be easy with content aggregators to know who had what!
