That should have an audience of about 3 then.

Disney+ is getting more expensive from March this year. If you are happy to watch everything in 1080p, then you won't have to pay any more. But if you want to keep watching content in 4K Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos, you will have to become a "Premium" member 🙄.

Australians will have to pay an extra $4 per month, so NZ will likely be a little more. Disney are also cracking down on sharing content.

Thanks for the heads-up; only yesterday I paused my annual renewal which would have happened in February, as we thought we'd go without Disney for a few months. Could well be worth re-signing up for an annual sub before the price increase, as we're not going to compromise with a lower-quality audio/sound option. (I resent Netflix for the same approach - we don't need 34 concurrent streams, just 4K,  Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.)

Thanks Movieman, I’ll change my monthly to yearly. My month is up mid February.

If convert Australian dollars to NZ makes it around $19.50 NZ.

I was only subscribing monthly so could pick best time to go for annual plan, looks like now is the time.

Was happy with current price to keep Disney continuous, but once the annual finish’s looks like end of that.

With original scripted shows declining and prices increasing it really does look as though people are paying more and more for less now days.

I don't mind paying more for 4k and Atmos. I like having the option. I wish NZ providers like Sky Sport Now and Neon would offer this. I'll be using other options until they do though.

If all the streaming companies put their prices up, I'll probably drop one or two and circulate through them during the year. It's all about choice. If it's too expensive, you should downgrade. It's a first world problem.

I just noticed the price increase for D+ from 4 March.  I have an annual subscription via Apple's App Store.  I just checked and my renewal date is showing for 25 March, and at the current price of $149.99. Does anyone know if I would get the $149.99 price when it auto-renews on 4 March, or if the price will be updated to $189.99?  If it's the latter, is there an easy way to prompt an early renewal to lock in the cheaper price?

Wait, annual will be $189?

That's some bad timing there! Luckily ours renews about 10 days earlier, so we'll be ok, but I'm still thinking of maxing out the value by cancelling that account and setting up a new one under my wife's name, as the current Flybuys offer (150 points) essentially amounts to an additional $26 discount (as our FB points are converted to New World $).

If you are going to be stuck with the new price, it would still be worth it financially for you to do the same (assuming you can use a different email address and potentially card, and don't mind losing your watch history!) - your overlap is barely three weeks, so you'll still be better off, and even more so if you can get the Flybuys offer.

Thanks.  I may just do that.  The 150 flybuys points is a good offer.  I convert flybuys to petrol discounts - 150 points = $1.125/L discount, and for the maximum 50L fill that's $56.25 off petrol.  Brings the net cost of a year of Disney+ down to under $100

Seems a no-brainer if one does have an ICE, but annoyingly I can’t take advantage of such a better offer! That the New World conversion rate is about half that of BP is fairly extreme, but our cars wouldn’t take kindly to being fed fuel as opposed to electrons…

A year's supply of fuel for the lawnmower (I suppose that's battery-powered as well)?  Maybe sell it off on Facebook Marketplace in jerry cans? 🤣

Yep, mower's electric! I'm feeling guilty about buying a Zippo this week - sick of replacing disposable lighters, but now I have to buy actual fuel for it - perhaps I use the 50l from the Flybuys deal for that?!
