As long as Unotelly keeps working with the other services I am sticking with it. If I can't find anything to watch on NZ Netflix I'll just cancel it. I was considering Presto but if it's that awful I'll steer well clear - thanks for the warning @blakamin

It seems to work fine for BBC, which is my main use of it. In fact, now that presumably much of the Netflix use has stopped, iPlayer seems much quicker with Unotelly than it used to be.

I was going to cancel Netflix but I'm finding that there is enough on the NZ site to justify the cost and it's arguably better than the other NZ offerings. Still paying in pounds for a UK sub but if I change to NZ I'll lose all preferences etc

I suppose Netflix is the main reason these services initially got created, but there is a world of other content that is pretty good that is not Netflix.

I don't care about Netflix and do not use it - but still use an unblocker for other services.

My current provider (I wont name) seems to be spending a substantial effort on Netflix possibily to the detriment of other services. Selfish me would be happy if they gave up on Netflix - but I imagine that most of their business is coming via that route.

Yes, I checked it out last night - was going just fine. Checked out a bit of the Glastonbury festival while I was there :o) I'm going to scan the Netflix NZ catalogue to see if there's anything worth me continuing to pay for the service. It might be worth it for the children's content alone, for my son. I seem to recall discussion of there being a way to get your account transferred to NZ without losing your settings, but I can't remember the specifics. I'm intending to do the same before October. Don't want to get done for GST evasion.

I've just done this. You cancel your account, which will give you access until the end of your payment cycle. The day after your account expires, sign up again using the same details. Just ensure you don't have your geo-blocker enabled, so you are subscribing via the Netflix NZ website.

Alternatively, you could use a new email address for your new account. You'll lose all your history, but you'll get your first month free.

Why not change DNS providers? I know with dns4me there are technicalities such as static routes, but if you can do that, it works.

Oh, I still intend to access overseas Netflix content, if possible. This change was purely an accounting one. I was on the grandfathered USD $7.99 plan, but as of this month I would've been on the USD $9.99 one. With the current exchange rate, it is now cheaper for me to be paying for the equivalent NZ subscription.

To be honest, the amount of time I spend watching Netflix doesn't justify the effort of keeping up with the whack-a-mole exercise required to maintain access to it. I hardly ever use it. Hulu, BBC and All4 make up the majority of my viewing and they are all working just fine with my current provider, which is paid for until next January, so I'm just going to turn off the Netflix option and try the NZ catalogue for a while.

I'm pretty close to doing that. I've been hanging onto it for the kids shows for my son, but he doesn't seem terribly interested either. I guess if I suddenly find a need for it I can always re-subscribe!

I'm staying with a friend and using their home wifi network. Out of interest i signed up for the Dns4me, configured my Android wifi network on my phone to use their DNS and was able to watch US Netflix without any router changes.

My Unotelly held out longer than most with the DNS changed in my AppleTV only. I don't want to touch my router. I've just run out of patience with the service going up and down all the time, and all the fiddling around required to get it back. If I was an avid user I'd be trying harder :o) For now I'm happy with Freeview, BBC, Hulu, All4, the Aussie channels, and my free Lightbox.

If you get over the Netflix obsession, Unotelly works just fine. It is still the only unblocker I have found that consistently works for every single site around the world that I want to view, and there are many. It is very far from dead.
