Well, not actually a new price drop, but with the seventh film in the franchise releasing in NZ cinemas on July 13th, I thought that it would be a good time to grab the previous six, which are available in a well priced 6-Movie bundle.

Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning - Part 1 will be the seventh film followed by the aptly named Dead Reckoning - Part 2, which is slated for June 2024.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: 6-MOVIE COLLECTION $29.99 ($5 Each)

The first four films have Dolby Vision/Dolby Digital 5.1 on board, whilst five and six have the full AV treatment with Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos/Dolby Digital Plus 7.1/Dolby Digital 5.1 as your options.

I found that one and two were stand alone films, while three to six followed on from each other. I couldn't find the 4K UHD 6-Movie Collection on my go to NZ disc sites, but Mighty Ape have the set on DVD for $80, ouch!

I agree with the frustration regarding the failure to upgrade. I also wish they would add the extras that they have for a lot of overseas titles that they don't have here.

I also would love the addition of tv series purchase but that's one miracle I don't see happening in the near term.

Movieman:

ROAD TRIP (2000, Comedy, 93 mins) has been upgraded to Dolby Vision video [Buy - $12.99: Rent $5.99]

GUNFIGHT AT THE O.K. CORRAL (1957, Western, 122 mins) has been upgraded to Dolby Vision video [Buy - $12.99: Rent $5.99]

The fact that several more titles have been upgraded in the US and/or the UK over the last few months, continues to irk me. I know that some films have different distributors in NZ, but many are distributed by Universal or Paramount etc. worldwide, so why don't we get these like other countries? The following titles have been upgraded recently in The US and/or The UK.

DEATH WISH (1974) Only upgraded overseas yesterday, and is not available in the NZ iTunes store, so fingers crossed that it is in the process of an upgrade.

THE EQUALIZER (2014)

NATIONAL LAMPOONS VACATION (1983)

THE WAY WE WERE (1973)

THE DEER HUNTER (1978)

AVATAR (2009) is releasing on 4K UHD Blu-ray on June 20th. I see that Lightstorm Entertainment are the distributors for NZ, so it will be interesting to see how we go with that one.

There are many more that have been upgraded overseas months ago, e.g. John Wick 1, 2, and 3 all having Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos in The US.

This is the only let-down for me as a NZ iTunes movie collector, and it seems like something that isn't going to change in the near future. Rant Over 😁

The fifth, and probably the final film in the Indiana Jones franchise; INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY is due for release in NZ cinemas on June 29th. Having watched the trailer, it looks like a fun adventure for Indy & Co.

All four films have Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos on board representing great value for money. Or you could buy the 4K UHD box set from JB Hi-Fi $139.98, or Mighty Ape $165 😬

We have several blockbuster movies in the pipeline for an iTunes NZ release. No release dates yet.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3: I enjoyed the first two releases, and from all accounts this is the final of the series.

TRANSFORMERS: Rise of the Beasts: The Transformer films are perfect for a Home Cinema fan like myself. The various transformations are just so seamless (To my old eyes). Great A/V experience.

FAST X: Love it or hate it, another film series for the Home Cinema fans.

THE FLASH: Another in the DC series of films, and is being touted as one of the best.

SPIDER-MAN: Across the Spider-Verse: I was gob smacked when I watched the first film in this animated series. Ground Breaking graphics IMO.

Whilst not a blockbuster as such; BOOK CLUB: The Next Chapter will have Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos on board. Release Date: Tuesday June 27th
