My issue with the NZ FTA channels getting these,  as opposed to a standalone service, is the back catalogue

It seems like they don't get all the previous seasons - or even get to keep the current season episodes longer than a few weeks - i assume that it costs more to get/keep the old episodes, so they don't

So Paramount/CBS content starting to show up on TVNZ on demand - 16 seasons of CSI up now

Hopefully the Paramount+ content show up soon :)

I want the full Survivor treatment, the US service has US, AU, NZ and SA seasons on it's platform.

Picard season 2 trailer is on Prime Video now. End of trailer it has 4 March, so all looking good there.

Looking at deals Paramount as made doubt Paramount + will be available in NZ any year soon, but at least we are set to get Picard S2 max quality.

Just watched Episode 1 of Discovery Season 4... its terrible quality compared to its Netflix days, seems to be a lower bitrate and just looked murky on my 4K Sony tv.  Does it look ok for others?  I mean its watchable but not high quality... I presume that TVNZ is only 1080p?

720p @ 2.5mb stream according to Kodi so not the best quality.

I’d rather pay and get better quality. For programs that are action or have a lot of special effects I will not watch on TVNZ on demand. Dramas, comedies like Young Sheldon are fine for TVNZ on demand.

Strange New Worlds is 4K overseas.

https://hd-report.com/2022/05/10/star-trek-strange-new-worlds-joins-discovery-season-4-in-streaming-4k-hdr/

“Both are now streaming in 4k Ultra HD with Dolby Vision HDR. The improvement is noticeable

Bold bit my emphasis.

Be better if there was choice, so ones that are more concerned about cost then quality can get for free, and others like myself can pay for best quality.

Maybe the fact i've only got 32" TV's and ordinary 1080p HD is a blessing. I watch quite a bit of TVNZ On Demand and don't have many complaints about the quality.
