FWIW still seeing very poor picture quality on Apple TV tonight - must be the 432p stream referenced above.
Interesting it is applying to ads as well, so they also look fuzzy and can't read the text on screen.
Doesn't appear to be possible to watch Coro street at all via Apple TV, at least works via web browser.
Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.
Well, I found one working new feature on the Apple TV app.
When you go back by ten seconds, subtitles get turned on temporarily to pick up missed dialogue.

yeah this is a tvOS feature, and likely due to TVNZ+ now using the native player by the look of it.
The ipad app appears to not have included landscape mode in the build submitted to Apple… I am now fielding irate level 1 support calls from family members and friends who can’t work it sideways.
Put in a support ticket - let’s see what happens…

From memory this was a tvOS18 feature 18 months ago, just nice to finally see it with TVNZ.
If they are using the base tvOS player, I wonder if it will now properly switch refresh rates to match displayed content?
EDIT: Looks like frame rate matching is working correctly, but can't test fully as the only 60Hz content obviously available is one of the live channels, which you can't select because the app crashes.
Working for me on both iPad and Apple TV - last night only threw up errors so some improvement.
This was The Chase and start of the News….
"Artificial Intelligence" - aka Machine Learning 2.0
Working for me on W10 and W11, but adblocker not working now as we are getting adds.
Works on my Android projector, except now I have two instances of the app somehow.
The lounge Samsung TV just produces a "Platform not initialized yet, ERROR CODE: APP-000005" for everything I think.

I mentioned this earlier on in the thread. Glad to not be the only one who has issues with the new TVNZ+ app having no landscape mode compared to the previous versions where landscape mode was available on iPads. I hope TVNZ brings landscape mode back for iPads.
On google tv (chromecast), when watching a channel, sometimes the left sidebar menus are missing / can’t be navigated to and you then click on the guide button at the bottom of the screen and then are stuck on the guide screen…nothing else.
Frustrating.

Heck, Thats just reminded me that mum uses TVNZ+ on her ipad.
Thankfully not routinely, so hopefully its all fixed before she next uses it.
Delete cookies?! Are you insane?!
Haven't had any playback issues (using on Sky Pod) but notice my continue watching has some old stuff finished long ago and the only thing we're actually currently regularly watching disappeared from it.
I am still having issues with Apple TV (4K second generation) and also a non 4k Apple Tv, same problems on both the videos will play for a bit then the error messages as above, I also noted that the buttons on the remove dont seem to work when a video is playing, seems to be effectiving a few people hopefully a patch can be made to fix it
To thier credit, the support form isn't a blackhole, replied to my issue this morning...
We have identified an issue affecting Samsung TVs released in 2017, which causes the error 'App-000005'. Our development team is prioritising this matter and is actively working to determine the root cause and implement a solution.
