I was very happy with Sky's coverage. I guess I'm fortunate I support one of the 'big' teams, so most of my team's matches were televised. Yes, PLP is great for those that don't support one of the top teams or don't want to pay for Sky's sport package, but I do on both counts. So for me, I'm worse off.

Not exactly illegal ... from Wikipedia: The Premier League and Sky maintain that, grey market viewing of games is not illegal on the part of the viewer.

Again, my gripe is that there's no way I can watch a live HD feed even if I am willing to pay for it.

In a certain way I actually am better off this season as I can watch all Arsenal games (which now includes cup games) on Sky Sports.

The games will be delayed but they will still be in HD, 5.1 sound and I don't have to give PLP a cent.

I would really love to have the option to pay someone to provide coverage that is LIVE, HD and 5.1 sound.

I do not know but I assume since they only have the rights to four teams then they will show them all.....

I did not miss any EPL games that Arsenal played last season, SKY showed them all.

I'm from england and i support Liverpool and i must say, i think the premierleaguepass seems great.

I managed to run a the test video and i must admit i loved, i thought the quality of it was great and much better than the streams you see online, and for 75 quid thats an absolute crazy price considering thats one months Sky Sports bill and i get All 380 games.

Even if it isnt HD for the price its still VERY good and probably slightly better than SD with my 40mb internet as well i think it'll run well.

I'll probably use this service, hopefully the app will be out then and i can airplay it to my TV.

Just my 2p.

I suppose the cause of low quality video on sample stream was because of the shooting in HK, while you look at the scores and team name on top left corner, it looks absolutely fine. Hopefully when the games come back to England, things will be better with better shooting technology.

I was wondering that. In the two replays we can watch, even the scoreboard looks pretty awful. But in the latest promo video, the players names and scoreboard look better. So I guess its possible things might improve.

I think the pitch didnt help either, the pitch was in such a bad state that when watching on a stream it will make the picture look a little worse, you wont get that kind of pitch in england so hopefully once its back in england it will look much better.

Also i watched the Asia trophy on Sky Sports HD in england and the picture wasnt the best then and usually Sky's HD picture is second to none.

Quick one, did anyone on here ever sign up to ADMC last year? i signed up to for £35 to watch all 380 games and the picture on that doesnt even come close to PLP but so many people in england brought because it wasnt so bad and better than free streams plus you was sure you'd get to watch your team which i think matters most.

As has been mentioned, we are not allowed to see 3pm kick-offs in the UK. The logistics of getting the feeds via satellite from another country doesn't make that an option for me. I'm lucky to be able to 'see' the Sky satellite at my location!

PLP etc do geo-block access so I'm sure that they comply with the terms of their agreement but it is pretty easy these days to circumvent the blocking which then does make the PLP service a very attractive prospect for those in the UK who are denied 3pm football at any quality.

I can't believe that PLP aren't aware of this but would the numbers from outside have any bearing on them possibly 'dumbing down' the quality? Probably not. It sounds as though cost is a significant factor to them if they up the quality from 3 to 4.5Mbps and maybe they just don't want to risk that yet.

As a matter of interest, what is PLP like as far as restrictions on connections is concerned? I know that the apps aren't available yet but can you, say, connect with two PC's from the same IP address. If they do block you, how easy is it to get unblocked?

@Samhi92 - Yes, I subscribed to ADMC last year and was happy with the way it worked and so it sounds as though PLP is a step up even from that. I've tried AJS for a month but seem to have spent more time onto their CS dept getting my account unblocked as I keep forgetting to log out when going from PC to iPad!

If your going to compare the two PLP has far better encoding i know its not on a par to the HD feeds that people are used to but it is what it is and there is no longer and other real alternative for 3pm games. To answer you question about geoblocking do PLP know perhaps the question should be do they actually care its all revenue at the end of the day.I guess they have to be seen to trying to stop people from outside of New Zealand from watching the content but at the end of the day there are always ways of getting around anything if you try hard enough.

I think for those who had ADMC last year, PLP seems like 10x better, dont get me wrong i loved ADMC last year because i never missed a Liverpool game, but the quality of it wasnt the best when on Ipad, PC or airplay'd onto my tv but i i'll admit it was MORE than watchable and i had no problem watching it plus it was all in english. I also have one of them satellites that move around to different country's to pick up the 3pm but no EU broadcaster has english commentary anyone more so thats why we all got ADMC, but PLP seems to have up the quality even more and i think if people keep asking them to up the stream to HD then PLP will easily be the best source for watching EPL.

You could watch it via Foxtel with a big dish or get a friend in Australia with decent upload speed to subscribe for you and stream it to you using a Hava or sling type device..

Theres heaps of Football feeds from all kinds of leagues being broadcast over Asiasat 5 CBAND, Many of them in HD and FTA. Others are encrypted in BISS format (insecure) this facebook page will give an example of some of the matches seen there recently.

For others I imagine this is a bit of a testcase and the Premier League will be monitoring this closely to see what is happening. I would think that they would be making PLP keep records of the source of the payments for subscriptions to check where CC is registered etc.
