I don't really think iSky should be used to demonstrate anything other than "how not to run a streaming service" though.

Mobile compatibility fail for the site... Hope the coverage apps are more polished, and hope they aren't rushing to be ready

I think I might run way beyond my BB cap because of this. I don't see any news yet about an ISP being involved like Vodafone is with SKy.

This looks excellent, games avaiable online, iPad, iPhone, android and apple tv!

"Packages for the online service are $24.90 for a day pass, $149.90 for a season pass, or $239.90 for a season pass platinum with extra features."

Personally I think thats reasonable for me (I watch a lot of football). It will be great to finally choose which games to watch. Remember Sky costs the best part of $100 a month for sport and HD.

Only question that reamains now is the quality. "Adaptive streaming" is a bit vague. Will the games be HD on ONE?

Yes I had MLBTV, it kept flicking from HD to SD all the time. The only time it seemed to run in HD the whole time was early on Sunday mornings.

If I tried using between 6pm and 10pm it would go into SD mode and pretty much stay that way.

Probably like Netflix which adjusts the quality based on the amount of buffer you have

What ISP are you with Jas777? I stream from multiple sources at any time of day and never have issues.

As mentioned above, because they'll be using Akamai to distribute the content there should be no problem with maintaining quality

thats quite low , i watch NFL gamepass  at 4.5mbits/s with no lag, so it can be done.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Not sure how I feel about this? That's bloody expensive. Especially if the streaming options aren't HD. Which 3mbit would indicate it isn't?

ya i am not very happy about this either.. the prices seem quite high - but you are given access to pretty much all the football games.

You can check out http://gamepass.nfl.com for free (no registration) to get an idea of what 3mbit quality streams look like.

As for me, i'm 50/50, since I have sky anyway i'd obviously prefer the games stayed on there but now I won't have to hunt for a stream whenever Liverpool games take the back seat to United/City/Chelsea games :)
