Our Apple TV TVNZ has been a nightmare since the upgrade.  Works for a while, then dies. Wife fixes it by Offloading the App then reinstalling it.

No idea if the quality is different, our 32" TV is from 2009 when we got married. It isn't smart and it only half knows what 1080 is.  I hope I die before it does.

Anyone had any luck blocking ads via firefox when watching from computer? Seems the update has stopped it from working like before.

It barely works for stacks of people with relatively normal setups, and you want to hack it to block ads? It's a free video stream that the Ads clearly fund.

Ads are annoying, yes, but this is the cost of not otherwise having to pay a subscription to access a pretty reasonable catalogue.

All I want is for the app to work as it is meant to. That's not asking for much.

Right now I seem to be able to watch without too many issues on my Chromecast, though the 'continue watching' list going back in time several months is annoying, as is the fact it's lost track of the episode i'm up to on more recently viewed content, so i'm left to figure that out for myself.

Have had limited screen time since the upgrade however.

I want it to block ads as well. They are annoying. I'd rather pay a sub, like I do for, you know, Geekzone.

TVNZ could follow the same model we have: ads for free content, no ads for subscribers.

I do think the subscription would still have a low uptake.

Well I am cheap, and I don't leap at the opportunity to part with money if I don't have too, but should they add a sub at a reasonable level, it could be a nice steady input stream I'd have thought.

The TVNZ app is completely borked on our OLED Panasonic tv now, and oddly at the same time NEON is extremely hit n miss. Hopefully they sort this mess and I don't have to get a Chromecast.

@etpulsar, what year is your Panasonic TV? Is it one of those with Fire TV built-in or the old OS?

We used the Panasonic TV TVNZ app while the app was not working on our Fire TV stick, and had no problems.

Ok... This might be getting a bit old. Ours is a 2021 JX900.

Might be the age of your set. my HZ1000 works fine. It doesn't look like they updated the app, it is simply a front end for a web based service.

Mine is behaving a little better. Still problems with lists though, and rubbish quality (seems to have lost 5.1 sound).

It's the same app version on ATV.

On the Apple TV app tonight, started playing a program, ended up with the audio, but a still image from a previous ad playing. Subtitles worked, but no video.

Force quit the app to get it going again.

So I managed to upgrade my SV11. I'd misunderstood something. However it froze on the screen when I was trying to browse.
I've also noticed that the ad blocker no longer works on my chrome browser on my PC. However it still works on Brave.
