freitasm: For those looking for a trial... Just saw this on Twitter: the qfxlaunch code should give you 21 days of free service.
I hope callplus and vodafone's nodes on APE are upto it
expression:BlueShift:wellygary:jtbthatsme:
You want to see growth then support it so they can do just that it may suck that there's no HBO but hey that's just the current offering and really people should not be so narrow minded to try other things than just what the big $$$ companies push out.
Just as an aside HBO own 15% of quickflix..... so SKy's monopoly may not last much beyond its initial period...
According to Sky's head honcho they don't have a monopoly on video on demand content:
Computerworld: “That right (to distribute content) is known as subscription video on demand, I don’t have any of those rights. The studios won’t let me buy rights unless I’ve got a way to exploit it. Even if they did, you can’t get an exclusive,” Fellet told Computerworld.
Perhaps the Herald are getting rights to broadcast mixed up with rights to stream.
HTPC Intel Pentium G3258 cpu, Gigabyte H97n-wifi motherboard, , 8GB DDR3 ram, onboard graphics. Hauppuage HVR 5500 tuner, Silverstone LC16M case, Windows 10 pro 64 bit using Nextpvr and Kodi
Gilco2: this looks like what caspa on tivo should have been.
I havent joined yet but probably will if vodafone get on board with data. I have looked through and I see you have 48hours to watch a pay per view movie but cant find how long for the normal ones. Is it still 48 hours or anytime in the month
BlueShift: Not that I'm planning on it, but how feasible is it to record a stream from Quickflix (or Netflicks) for future viewing. I'm thinking mostly for saving on bandwidth if something is likely to be watched a few times.
I know saving YouTube streams is trivial, but I'm assuming the likes of Quickflix will be wanting to lock things down more firmly to keep their suppliers happy.
crackrdbycracku: With regard to the "There is no HBO because Sky have exclusive rights".
Is there HBO stuff on iTunes?
If so the rights can't be that exclusive, right?
They may be too expensive for QuickFlix, maybe too expensive right now, blah blah. But that's another matter.
Common sense is not as common as you think.
