Disappointing if spark have lowered frame rate. Trying to pay locally for content.
What does kayo offer for quality?

It's possible they're not using their normal F1 flyaway kit (4k 50p) for the broadcast. Instead using a local OB Company that can only do 4k 25fps in progressive.

I'll see if I can find any more info about the local OB.

I see Wimbledon is on SS. I know that, but they are showing match by match. Sky had some live, well few live, then MOTD. SS has match by match listings which is great

Yes, I saw that, it was more that on SS I see individual matches, rather than sessions a few hours long, or highlights. Quite handy.

Does anyone know if SPARK SPORT are working on PS4 app?

No mention of it on their website. Just smart TV apps 2017+ models. Unfortunately my TV is pre 2017.

I know an Xbox app is happening, probably post RWC, so you would expect that PS4 would be as likely.

What is Sky normally? I noticed Wimbledon was a low frame rate.

I've just run the womans world cup replay through kodi and its telling me its 1440 x 1080i with 9mbps bit rate and a refresh of 25fps; this is Sky Sports 4 HD.

Sky is 50i though so it appears better than 25p for fast movement as I understand it.

50i is 25 frames per second balanced across the two fields of display (interlaced does 1/2 a field or screen per refresh) where as 25p is full screen refresh at 25 frames per second... this will feel naturally smoother and more consistent.

You seam to understand this better than I do. Is it not the case that 50i appears to be slightly better than 25p as your getting an updated frame at double the frequency even though it only contains half the information? It gives an image that if paused is jaggered but for motion (sport) its better?
