Yeah Thanks Movieman for all your tireless work updating us re: new releases etc. To be honest i havent purchased much physical discs for a little while. Bit hard trying to adjust to the "normal" $50ish dollar local pricing these days. I tend to hammer Apple Movies and keep an eye on their $4.99/7.99/9.99 sales. Thanks again,always been an informative read.

Although I have decided to stop updating this thread on a regular basis, I don't see why myself or anyone else should completely ignore it.

If I see what I think is a good deal sometime in the future, I'll post it here. Hopefully everyone else will do the same.

Its the first time that I have seen a Pre-order in the top 20 Bestsellers.

DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE (2024) are sitting in sixth spot as I type this post. People are paying $34.99 for it. It wont be available for rent because its a Disney release, but it will drop to $24.99 after two or three weeks.

Release Date: October 1st

I was browsing the Cheap Charts website and I noticed that Paramount have many of their catalogue titles at $2.99. There may be a section advertising it on Friday.

I picked up three titles for a total cost of $8.97. Stardust (2007), Trainspotting (1996) and Hugo (2011). All three have been upgraded to Dolby Vision.

Lots of decent titles added to the $4.99 bin as well.

I had a closer look at the $2.99 Paramount titles and I also picked up one of my wife's favourites... An Officer and a Gentleman from 1982. This is another title that has a Dolby Vision upgrade and is one of the few films that I have that fill my 65" screen (1.78:1, no black bars).

Deadpool & Wolverine is the Bestseller at the moment, with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice in second place. Both titles are $34.99 to buy and $29.99 to rent, and there I was, thinking that people couldn't afford luxuries these days 😁. Give them up to a month and they will be available for $24.99/$7.99.

For those of you who like old movies; Blazing Saddles (1974) is available from the store for $4.99.

Warner Bros. will soon be releasing the film on 4K Ultra HD in celebration of its 50th Anniversary.

The artwork in the store has been updated and iTunes Extras have been added, so if you buy it now, at its present price, you will get a free 4K upgrade shortly.

Hugo had a 4K physical media release, but the audio was DTS-HD Master Audio, which is almost always re-graded to Dolby Digital Plus in the Apple Store. Hopefully one day the Apple TV 4K will be able to bitstream the audio so that we can have DTS as well.
